It was announced today that Annette Funicello passed away at age 70 after a decades long battle with MS.

Bob Iger, Disney’s chairman and chief executive, said: “Annette was and always will be a cherished member of the Disney family, synonymous with the word 'Mousketeer,' and a true Disney legend."

Sorry to hear that. I first knew her as the lady in the Skippy commercials and only later learned she was on the original Mickey Mouse Club and was in beach movies.

I wish Disney were represented by more people like her.

She had class.
