I posted this article earlier about layoffs in CA, but it has some interesting tidbits on Animation news.

Animation in FL is set to start on BEARS, a traditionally animated movie due in 2004.

Hopefully this isn't the final name of the movie. It kind of stinks IMO.

Animators aren't under long term contacts. Out-sourcing is more and more frequent.

The Jungle Book 2 is coming out next year and being done in AUSTRALIA.

Never thought Australia, would be a big animation producer.

Most of the Cali animation studios is either being moved to FL (woohoo) or laid off....

They are currently doing 3 (i think) full length movies primarily here in Florida (previously the only one done here was Mulan).

Australia/New Zealand is the new "Promise land" for Films/Animation...thats where all the jobs are

Not planning on it...I actually have my sights set on Orlando...some little mouse related company up there...
