It also gives you a great souvenir to hang on the wall. Two things: I don't think you need to do the preshow at all. We always just stood in line.
Second, there's more than just 7 characters. We did Agent P a while back. During the drawing our CM asked a bunch of trivia questions about Phineas and Ferb, which my wife did the best with. Therefore, we got the artist's sketch for that round. Yeah, we've been going every year. They also have animation drawing on the cruise ships during the days at sea, often in one of the pubs where a touch of liquid inspiration makes it all the better.
