Animal Kingdom Meal Plus Question

Does Animal Kingdom still do the "meal plus certificate" program? If so, how exactly does it work. Specifically, are you supposed to go to an included restaurant, buy the certificate, then redeem it then and there? And what if you're at a place that only has the meal and drink, what do you do to get the popcorn or ice cream? Do they punch a card or something to show what you've used? Help !!!

They had these when we were there both March 2003 and Aug 20003. They can be a good deal. What you do is they sell them at any counter service (all the places at AK other then RFC.) Then you use a part of it (they rip it off) to buy your meal and drink. They give you the remander of the ticket to get the pop corn or ice cream and bottled drink any time later at any cart or place they sell it. They say it should be used on the day it is bought, but I don't know if or how that is inforced.

They kids meal can be a real deal since it is 6$, and comes with a kids meal and the ice cream and pop. The adult meal is 11 I belive. I think you could get a bunch as you walked in the park at the 1st food place and then give them out to members if you wanted to split up.

This seemed to be a standard thing when we where there. I don't seem them ending any time soon. (since all of AK is counter service.) I wish MK, Epcot and MGM had them too, but the all have many sit down choices for eating.

:D Such a deal-- Too bad they do not have it at the other parks--

As to the question of when you can use the portions of the ticket. We have used part on another day with no problem.

I also bought one on my trip, and gave it to my daughter for my grandson for their trip the next month, so it should not be a problem as long as they are still selling them. At first they sold them at Guest services but now as was said earlier, you can get them at all of the fast food spots. I even used my drink ticket for an ice cream-- Maybe the CM was just nice but I thought that was a little special. Do not know if that would work all of the time though. MORE MORE !!!:D

I believe they work out to be $12.73 (after tax) for the adults. I usually do it when I'm at AK, because a lunch entree plus drink will usually be around $10 anyways. And I know I'd want a drink later on, so by doing this, it also gives me a free ice cream (that I could probably do without, but its still a nice treat)

I do wish they'd have it at the other parks.
