Animal Kingdom Lodge

Has anyone ever stayed in one of the rooms where you can see the animals out of your balcony? I think that would be so cool and I'm jealous of anyone who has ever had a room like that!

I have in fact stayed in a Savannah View room. (Just needs to mention that this should be posted in the WDW Resorts thread, but since you're a newbie and I am obsessed with AKL, I'll let it slide...) The Savannah View rooms are amazing. I swear, I spent a good percentage of my trip just staring in awe from my balcony. You really do see alot of animals, and it is especially fun when the giraffe eat and walk around! The animals differ depending on the particualr Savannah your room is on, and there are three. I prefer the Uzima Savannah, but they are all nice! AKL is an amazing resort...hopefully you get the chance to see it!

Well right now I'm too poor so I have to stay at the All Star resorts. Haha...

I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge last year. What can I say, I couldnt fault it. We had giraffes outside our balcony. It was absolute heaven and worth every penny.

The room was spotless. The themed african rooms are out of this world. The staff were very polite and could not do enough for you.

I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

It has the atmosphere, the music, the smells of Africa.

I loved every minute of it and although I have just bought a villa in Florida I will definitely stay at the Lodge again.

You must try it.

Stayed two nights for my birthday, Savannah View, absolutetely amazing. I didn't want to leave to go to the parks, I just wanted to stay on our balcony and sip my wine while watching the giraffes, cattle, antelope, etc.

Too expensive?

Well, you're right in the sense that it's certainly more expensive than the AllStars, but I've seen some excellent AP promotions. I'm not sure why they've made such attractive offers for this resort, but they have had some DEEP discounts available, though I'm not sure that they were good for the Savannah View rooms. You should at least go look and/or have a meal there, even if it's too expensive for you to stay there for now.

Sloan is right---If it wasn't for the discounts offered right now, I would be staying at the All Stars---but thanks to those discounts, this will be my first stay in a deluxe resort:sohappy:
Im so happy--even though it is a parking lot view, I have been told that there are several observation decks to view the animals with--
