Animal Kingdom Lodge - Standard View Best Room?

Hi guys,
I am a long time 'browser' but have never had an account/posted myself

We are going to be staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time ever next May and could really use some advice?

We just wondered which is the best standard view room/building to book? We would like to be close to the lobby, pool and bus stops. We looked at the map and wondered if the giraffe trail was any good? Could do with a range of room numbers to give our travel agent.

I can't really speak as to the best room/building, but I can say that a lot of people who book standard view rooms wind up being bumped up to some level of savannah view. There are no guarantees, but it seems to happen a lot.

We stayed at AKL back in September and while I had us booked in a pool view bunk bed room, we had several savannah views as room request options when we did online check in. I'm not sure if it's the same way for standard view bookings, but I found it very interesting that the check in area on the website had specific savannahs we could request even though we weren't paying for a savannah view room. The other request I made was to be close to the lobby.

Best view is about 3rd or 4th floor...not higher but mid-range.
