When I go to the online check in it gives me the preference to request an area of the hotel for my room.... Are any areas (for example: by the lobby) better than others? I have a pool view roo

Great thing about AKL it is very easy to get to everything so u should be ok anywhere r u staying at Jambo

You'll want to request near lobby or you run the risk of quite the walk from bus/lobby area to your room.

Should have said when you booked. What type of room do you have? Deluxe Studio and larger rooms I think are in Kidano Village. Everything else should be Jambo.

Yes, I believe you are correct. A regular room is in the Jambo House while the Larger Rooms are in Kidani Village. The rooms at Jambo House are all lovely and you really cant go wrong with any area. Closer to the lobby is good though because you can tend to be exhausted at the end of the day at the parks and want to get to the room quick.

Out of those options I would choose the Kudu trail view. Any opportunity to see the animals up close would be worth it

If you want to request something that's not part of those options, then you can also call and add it. For example, if you want to be close to transportation.

That's what I did. I didn't list a second preference, because I thought it might reduce my chances of getting that one.

Seems odd that you are offered Kudu trail with a Pool View room. I thought the Pool Views were all Giraffe and Zebra. I've stayed at AKL a few times and been happy with everything we've gotten.

Sometimes if they have excessive savannah view rooms available, they will offer kudu to people who haven't paid for the savannah view.

This happened to us 2 years ago.
We had a 1/4 mile walk to the bus stop in the morning, but waking up to those views were so worth it.

that is a great view. We had a sunset savannah view this past February. Absolutely amazing, we were visited by countless animals all the time

Close. Kidani Village is DVC Villas exclusively. Jambo House has both regular hotel rooms and DVC Villas.

agree, by far the most beautiful imo. If this was a monorail resort...the prices would be astronomical
