Animal Kingdom Lodge Pool compared to Caribbean Beach?

Some pools have their size listed, or at least gallons. Some do not. I am interested in particular about the size of the main pool at Caribbean Beach vs. The Jambo House Main pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Anyone know or maybe even stayed at both and can give me comparables?

I've stayed at both, and Jambo's pool (Uzima Springs) is much more impressive than Caribbean Beach's (Fuentes Del Morro).
It's not terribly relaxing, as Jambo House kind of towers above and surrounds the pool area.

Caribbean Beach's is somewhat more relaxing, since you've got the creek on one side and the nice water-spouting castle structures, but just as a guess it's less than half of the main Jambo pool's size.

The secondary pool at Animal Kingdom Lodge- (Samawati Springs) at Kidani Village, is really nice too. It has a better kid's play area and a more elaborate water slide.

Note also that Caribbean Beach has six (right?) other "quiet pools" available at the other island complexes, but they're all much smaller.

We were at AKL 2 years ago but I had never been to Caribbean Beach. I save about 300 on 5 nights staying at CBR and was thinking the pool might be a better set up for my 2 year old and soon to be 6 year old, but I did love AKL.
From the look of the above pics it does not look like AKL is double the size but it does look a bit bigger.
I also worry that being there in August CBR offers less shade than AKL

If you want a shadier pool then look at Port Orleans Riverside.

We really enjoyed CBR pools... Having not stayed in AKL I can't compare, but the pool had a Zero entry area for little ones. We also made use of the quiet pools late at night. They were open (no lifeguard) all night and when we came back late at night we would go for a 15-20 minute dip. The kids really liked that and they slept really well! We stayed in Aruba and had a corner room, close to quiet pool. It's still my DH favorite resort. (I'm a WL lady my own self). I don't think you will regret staying there especially for free dining! Sparkle on...

Ah would totally love the free dining...but alas we check out right before it kicks in at the end of August. Still saving a decent percent off rack rate. Thanks for the CBR vote...Part of me says...ah what's another 360 or so to move up to AKL, but the other part says, hey that over 50% of the rate I am paying for now, that will buy a lot of food and mouse ears lol

Every time we've compared the room discount with the dining plan, and add up what we would actually spend on food, we conclude that we would end up losing money on the dining plan.

Agreed, I will not do the dining plan unless it's free. One I end up booking a bunch of reservations that I would never bother with. Two, I have two small kids so eating a sit down meal everyday can be a challenge. Three, I rarely order desert at home so I do not need it with every meal. Four, We love apps, and sometimes just make a meal out of that, we will go to the Derby at HS and just order the Cobb salad. Finally Five, we rent a car so it's nice to go off site a few times, love going to Celebration for a meal.

The thing to keep in mind about the dining plan is that it's never actually free.

Pool at AKL stinks. Majority of pool deck is shaded. Water slide is terribly short and slow.

Caribbean Beach pool is better, because it has open sunshine spots, and a waterslide that is both pretty long and fast. Lots of fun.

Actually the shade is part of what I like about the AKL pool. I agree on the slide. Too short.

CBR would be more fun for small kids. Not a shady type pool like the one at Jambo. When we stayed at AKL my grandkids were 6 and 8 and they had a blast at that pool. The lifeguards do a great job there with the activities for the kids. In fact my grandkids cried when their mom made them leave the pool to do the parks LOL... We stayed at CBR once in late October and it was pretty chilly over our stay. Kids did pool there one afternoon and had a blast. The were 7 and 5 on that stay.
