Animal Kingdom/Early Close Time

Hi everyone, I'm planning my trip and checking the calendars. Apparently, AK closes at 5:00 every night (in mid July) - why so early? Does anyone know?

OK, thanks. Will it be the same for the other parks as well? For example, it says MK is only open until 10:00. We plan to be at MK on a Saturday in July if that matters.
Yep. With the exception of Epcot, they will all extend. Apart from locking in EMH days, releasing the hours 6 months out isn't very helpful, as they are never final.

For an idea of what to expect, see the finalized hours from previous years at http://www.wdwmagic.com/calendar.htm

By the Way, the original reason for the early closure is so the animals can get to sleep as darkness descends or there about, which in the winter, can be pretty early. Also, there was not a whole lot to do in the park when it first opened. Both of those views have changed, as indicated above, so they are likely to extend the hours somewhat
