Changes to Discovery Island

Revamped entrance area:
In order to combat the heat in Animal Kingdom, several areas that were once trees have been opened up to let the heat out. The first area that has gotten this treatment is the entrance area, a new pond has replaced the many trees that once inhabited this area. Surrounding the outskirts of the pond are several buildings made out of plywood and straw, this area of the park is supposed to be a fishing village with fishing rods and bait crates littering the walkways and on the patios of the houses. The pond is also inhabited by different types of fish, a first for the zoological park and something that the park will be looking into for future expansions (Spoiler). The river on the west bank of the river has also been expanded to further combat heat.

Tree of Life:
Many guests only see the Tree of Life or go inside of it only for It’s Tough to be a Bug but several pathways have been opened surrounding the tree. A new experience has also been added to the Tree of Life itself, you can now walk inside of the tree. Guests can enter the tree by an opening in the tree and they can walk around in the many caverns of the tree with different carvings along the walls of different animals. The river has also been expanded by surrounding the Tree of Life and a new pond filled with fish has also been added.

New Pond in the Center:
In front of the Tree of Life is a new pond that has several fountains that will dance along with music in the area. Fountains will go up and down and entertaining guests of all ages.

Changes to the Menu of Restaurants:
The menus of the restaurants will be changed to better fit the American appetite with different foods added such as Chicken Tenders and burgers but would be added to fit in with the restaurants themselves with theming.

1: A new attraction has been added to Avatar which is a trackless dark ride. This ride will take you on a journey through the forests of Pandora, finding different animals in the jungle. Guests will first walk through the jungle, encountering different color fauna and going through the many caverns of a bioluminescent mountain before we enter into our exploration vehicles. Guests will follow the RDA, helping them with researching different animals and having a deadly encounter Ikran before we escape back to their headquarters.

2: A new experience has been added to the land where guests will go inside of a mountain and have an experience with several Ikran’s and other animals native to Pandora as animatronics. The caverns of the cave are covered with bioluminescent nature and will glow brighter at night. The animatronics are programmed with different reactions to guests of different ages such as acting kinder to children. Several highlights of this experience is a family of Ikran’s, being able to pet a Direhorse, and a pack of Viperhorse’s. Ikran animatronics can be seen inside of caves on the outside of the mountain.

3: A new pathway has been added to access the land in an attempt to decrease crowding in the main entrance of the land. In this path you will traverse through the looming mountains of Pandora. There is also floating islands in this pathway.

4: This pathway to Africa has been refurbished to combat overcrowding. Guests will cross a bridge and walk onto an island which has abandoned equipment from RDA such as an abandoned jeep and research equipment. Guests will cross another bridge and enter into an African outpost with benches and a drink and snack stand that will sell authentic African delights.

5: The queue for Flight of Passage has been refurbished to fit in with the rest of the land. Guests now go through the dense jungles of Pandora, passing by floating islands and crossing over rivers. After guests cross under a large pond they go deeper into the jungle where there will be different creatures looking at guests.

Changes to Asia
Untitled69_20240618071625.jpeg

1: Refurbished Kali River Rapids.
Kali River Rapids has always been a pretty underwhelming experience mainly due to its short ride time and lack of memorable moments, so this refurbishment will focus on adding show scenes and expanding the ride track further north. The first addition to the ride is a new show scene where guests enter a ruined temple and a large mountain where they will experience the snake filled rooms of the temple. The next addition is a temple where several animatronic animals are living inside of the temple, the main animatronic in the temple is a tiger sitting on a chair. The next show scene is a mountain where several more animatronic animals inhabit the mountain. Another mountain is added to the ride where several animals also inhabit such as tigers and snakes.

2: Refurbished Africa/Asia pathway.
A small counter service is added that sells traditional Asian food.

I agree that Kali River Rapids has always been kind of boring. I like your changed and it might make the open areas of Kali (like where you're just randomly floating around) more exciting.

I could see a small detail/gag added to the penguin exhibit; “penguins don’t live in the arctic! But there’s nowhere else here to put them!”
