Not strictly disney I know but is anyone out there playing Animal Crossing on Gamecube? What a cool game! So relaxing compared to the hustle and bustle of everything else out there at the minute.

the game uses an internal clock and keeps a virtual diary
by way of example, a notice board went up in the ingame world yesterday to say that a furniture salesman will be visiting the town at 6pm tomorow.
if i play the game tomorow at that time (and sue has suggested that may not be the best use of holiday entitlement from work) the game will check the clock, and at 6 along will come the man and ill get to buy some cool stuff
if the next time i play is say wednesday - tough, ive missed him!
neat idea, huh!
its an advancement of the old sega trick of triggering cool things in games at say Christmas

Wow, does the game ever end? This sounds very interesting.

Course I think the Sims Online sounds very interesting. Virtual World Advancements seem to be taking big strides again.

In Animal Crossing. Do you play one character, and if you don't meet your Furniture man, can your character make decisions in place of you. Also, does the game take into account your actions over time to play more similar when you are away?

Just Curious, thanks.

i read somewhere the game lasts for thirty (real) years!
your character doesnt do anything if your not playing, so if i miss the furniture man, i miss him
the other characters in my village were all cross with me today because I didnt visit them until the evening. they have all started talking about halloween though - so now may be a good time to move in!
it is a very sociable game, in that you can visit yuor friends village, and up to 3 firends can live in the same village with you, traidng rare items and stuff
i guess its kind of like pokemon but without the plot!
and monorail - i really do need a pear! im markie in sunshine. do you want a cherry?

Thanks I may just have to look into this game after my Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Insomnia wears off. But since I'm picking up RCT 2 today, that could be in thirty (real) years.

I got the same items you did from Nintendo! I love Pinball, it was one of my favorite NES games back in the day.

No need to post a cherry, they are native to my roommate's town so I have access to plenty. Thanks though! :)

Hi there,

my wife and I are playing animal crossing as well, and so is my sister. Can anyone give me a fruit other than a cherry? I am getting my games tommorrow when i get my mail, so I will let you know what I get from nintendo.

I simply love the hum drum of this game! there are a ton of secrets to find as well. Anyone find any yet?

Here is how you grow a money tree! : find the patch of land that is glowing gold, dig it up and when the money bag pops out, pick it up and chose to bury it again, then when the tree grows it will grow money at the same rate that fruit grows! Pretty cool!

Also, if you have a shovel, try to find a rock that glows red when you hit it with the shovel, keep hitting it seven times in a row and more and more money will pop out. I think this only works once a day.

White scallops are the only seashells really worth anything.

If you have two memory cards for your gamecube, create another town on a totally different card, then visit yourself! Trade items that way.

I am wondering how you find more NES games? Anyone know?

RevRay: post your town name and player name

MarknSue: NES games can be traded. You can purchase ones you already have from Nook's catalog for 3000 bells. If you want a Balloon Fight send me something worth 3000 bells and it is yours. I should be getting a Donkey Kong soon as well. :D

Hi there Monorail Lime,

My name and town is in my signature, what is yours? I am also looking for any nes games you got, I have DK and I got DK Jr as well. May I send multiple things to you if I do not have one thing worth three grand?

Thanks! We also have a trading forum on this site, search out Animal Crossing Trading Forum!

Nope you dont need the internet at all if you have friends locally. But the internet is handy.

When you have an item you want to trade you go to Tom Nook the store owner and tell him "Hear Code" then he will ask you the item name, the name of the person you want to give it to, and thier town name.

Then he will give you a code BASED upon that persons name and town and item you want to give.

you can then post that item on the internet and only the person that you geared it towards can use it.

Pretty cool!

This sounds good, but to me makes no sense...

How can you receive gifts and visit people if you aren't connected to the internet. How does yous system know what is going on in a friends town if there is no direct connection between you and them? Does the game make some kind of codes based on teh combination in letters you use in your name or something like that. Anyone know how it works?
