It's not too surprising. I was there a week ago and there wasn't really anyone in line to see her. I doubt anyone really knew who she was. Atleast they tried to offer a new character for a little bit but I don't think the demand was there for her.

I'm surpised they didn't keep her out until the DVD release.

He doesn't? :lookaroun :veryconfu :brick: (as I mumble: Disney, Disney, Disney.)

I thought at one point he did? Maybe during MNSSHP? I seem to remember insane lines for him. I know he meets and greets at DL...

You can see Jack daily at his live stage show.

And I am not upset about Angelica leaving. It was a VERY poorly done Meet and Greet.

I still don't understand why Jack Sparrow doesn't have his own meet and greet...

I'm sure this is another one of those "myths" that I have fallen for for many years, but wouldn't a meet and greet with Jack put him in 2 places at once? I thought there was a cardinal rule that no character can be seen at 2 places in the park at the same time.

Of course as I type this I think of Peter Pan being at 2 places. (the ride and the meet and greet)

My thoughts exactly Nick! You'd think they'd at least wait until the home video release and then maybe even the cable tv release before giving her the ax.

I really think a good reason for her not getting more people is that she's just kinda stuck over by Pirates without much fanfare. It's very easy to miss her.

I think that it isn't a "myth" per se; it seems to be an ideal maybe Disney aspires to, but it certainly is no rule. Just about every character that has a ride has a M&G in the same park that would put them in two places at once, without even thinking about characters that appear at multiple parks. Let's see:

-Buzz is in his ride and then outside in Tomorrowland
-Pooh characters meet right outside their ride
-Buzz and Woody meet right across from TSMM in DHS
-Parade Mickey goes right by the Town Square Theater M&G
-Mickey is also in Philharmagic while he is in Town Square, the parade and/or the castle show, although this could be a duplicate Waldo from Muppetvision instead of a duplicate Mickey

The strangest one that I just thought of is Donald at Epcot. There is a ride where the whole point is that we can't find Donald when he can regularly be found at the M&G outside. Why didn't Jose and Panchito just look there instead of travelling all around Mexico (it's a big country)? They must not have picked up a Times Guide on their way into the park. You can also meet Donald all day at the Character Spot.

I'm not complaining. I think it's a courtesy extended to the guests to give them access to the characters that they want to see and to have them in logical places (near their rides). Courtesy comes before Show. Although Mickey in MK probably pushes the limits of what's acceptable.

The rule you're referring to is primarily meant for the Fab 5, and mostly Mickey. You should never see Mickey twice at the same time. There is only one Mickey Mouse.

Also, Jack being on the ride and doing a M&G does not break this rule. You can only see one of them at a time. Your suspension of disbelief means that when you're on the ride, he's in the treasure room, and when you're seeing him at the M&G, he's taking photos. It doesn't mean a character can only appear once.
