Now I knew that there were some educational Figment films in the 80's at least(including one with Peter Pan) but I had absolutely NO IDEA that he first appeared in 1978. Was anyone else aware of the existence of "Would you eat a Blue Potato"? It's amazing what Extinct Attractions Club was able to dig up, if they ever found the lost Dreamfinder show or that Dreamfinder 3D movie, then my life would be complete...

Please don't call the 80's or even 1978 "ancient." It makes me feel very old! :animwink:

But some characters developed for attractions or other things have had an earlier start. They just never took off well when they aired. I'm just glad they chose to revive Figment from that clip and not the blue potato!

Sorry about that...
Well, I guess they decided to establish Figment early on when Epcot was in development. I know that there were some of those EPCOT educational shorts on early Disney Channel that included talking food characters vaguely reminscent of Kitchen Kaberet(I still have one of those on tape somewhere, it was about some kid who had a pet plant and thought it was kind of lame until a talking eggplant, a tomato, and a brocoli(I think) told him about the growth of plants and how plants are kinda cool). Now the big question is who voiced him in this early form or was it still Billy Barty?
