This amazing restaurant near the DLR is finally reopening. So many reasons why I am very happy it is reopening, from the historic rebuilding, to the great food, and all the good Bruno Serato has done for the community.

>>It’s been a challenging 15 months for Bruno Serato whose restaurant, the Anaheim White House, was all but destroyed in a blaze in February 2017. But now he can reveal a completely refurbished place on Tuesday, May 8, when the 5,600-square-foot, 180-seat restaurant opens to the public once again, revealing a $2.5 million makeover.

The 1909 Colonial-style mansion, whose exterior resembles the U.S. president’s residence, has been restored and upgraded and so have the surrounding grounds.<<

Our History

1909: Anaheim White House, a national historical landmark, was skillfully crafted by Dosithe Gervais. The home exchanged hands from the Waterman family to Dr. Truax and his wife, Louise. The Truax family would call the lovely mansion their home for 50 years

1981: Jim and Barbara Stovall purchased the home from the Truax family in 1981. Almost immediately, new plans were drawn up for the restoration of the home as "The White House Restaurant".

1987: Chef Bruno Serato, an Italian from San Bonifacio, Verona took over the ownership of the Anaheim White House Restaurant, which features Northern Italian Steak House cuisine.

February 2017: Anaheim White House suffers devastating fire destroying the restaurant and over $2M in damage. Plans to rebuild commence almost immediately.

November 2017: Full plan approval to restore Anaheim White House Restaurant. construction continues.

May 2018: Mission Accomplished! Anaheim White House re-opens it doors!

Drove buy it a few hundred times in the years I worked in Anaheim, only went once. Wasn't exactly a lunch type of place we would go to during work hours and pretty much steered clear of Anaheim in the evenings beyond trips to Disneyland. That being said, absolutely iconic and happy Bruno has been able to rebuild.

$2.5 million was the cost to rebuild the facility to its Historic Past.
