Last Tuesday, I had a CTA (Tourism) Conference to attend at the House of Blues. Decided to use my UpWalker and used Access to get there. So got there early, and decided to take a walk around the area.

Nothing new learned at the Conference, both Knott's and Disneyland did presentations, but from a Marketing point of view. Had a very nice tour of the entire House of Blues facility including the VIP Foundation Room. Awesome tour guide.

Anyway, let's start with the photos.

First off is a shot from the Freeway (I was the sole passenger in a Wheelchair Yellow Cab Van, so easy to focus on the photos while the driver stayed in the Slow Lane). This is the Combination Hilton Property, A Hilton Garden Inn and Home2 Suites (former Quality Inn) on Manchester.

Next is the Element by Marriott, while just down the street from the Hilton property, the street name changes at the Corner, and is now Clementine. It is scheduled to open this December.

So now out of the Cab, and on foot. This is the JW Marriott, southern end, looking from Katella Avenue. This Anaheim GardenWalk Hotel is scheduled to open early 2020.

Now the East View from Clementine.

And something caused a smoke ring... DCA, Anaheim Hotel or House of Blues...

And the Radisson Blu

And now the Cambria, opening later this year. The Food Area (The Gateway) is already open (Luna Grill, Ono Hawaiian and AT&T Wireless still in progress).

Meeting is over, so time to head back to the Cambria and The Gateway, to meet Lisa for Lunch. (Had an awesome Breakfast provided by the House of Blues, the Bacon was cooked nice and crisp!)

Since Lisa had a half day, drove over to the CVS and parked, and took a walk to the Convention Center and the Westin.

Nice to see all the progress. Alas, due to the prior City Council, seems like all the other projects that were on the board have been taken off, and we are in a lull that hopefully will change soon.

So that is it for today.

Let me end with a shout out to all the Goat fans (aka LAFC)… You can't beat Us!!! Go Galaxy!

The Radisson Blu Seems to be in a weird location. Drove by it yesterday while trying to get to Pure Hockey.

IMHO, a very smart location. The American Sports Center is across the street, home of not just the USA Olympic Volleyball teams, but also other National/World events. So will be a host hotel, plus as for the 2028 Olympics, a gold mine.

It is close enough to Disneyland, and will have an ART stop. Not in the Resort area, so the TOT tax will be a bit lower, and they won't have to pay the resort fees the other Hotels pay for specific services.

Right next to the Freeway, but new construction techniques can block the vast majority of noise issues. Note that the parking structure is between the freeway and the actual Hotel, one way to help block the noise.

WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN MAN?? YOU MISSED ALL THE FUN ABOUT TP2000

Oh, I heard. In another thread (Neighbor Lady), I explained I had too much D23 knowledge a couple of weeks ago, and stayed off to not spill my guts.

I feel for TP2000. The Medium article was a piece of fiction, leave it at that. I haven't read all the posts, maybe during Labor Day weekend....

But I was given the Medium article by some good friends somehow involved with things, and asked me to read it and give my opinion. I had a few laughs while reading, and basically said this is full of Beautiful Stuff, or words to that effect.

So I will try to catch up, but as they say, don't believe everything you read.

Great photos here! All these new hotels in a densely packed Resort District that already has 20,000+ hotel rooms. And there's also the huge Westin being built further west on Katella.

Of course, as any WDW College Program Cast Member working a churro cart can tell you authoritatively, Disneyland is just a little locals-only theme park, so we have no idea what type of Conrad Hilton Mafia money-laundering scheme is being used to build all these new hotel rooms that will all sit empty since only locals go to Disneyland.

But it's really quite impressive all the new hotels that are being built in 2019, after an already impressive burst of new corporate hotels that opened in the Resort District in 2017-18.

Make sure you've got a favorite snack or beverage at hand. Since you are someone who has been online with some of us since the Clinton Administration and had Al Lutz as their Best Man in their wedding, it's going to be a hilarious late summer read for you! :D

I built my first computer and got online when Jimmy Carter was president, I am have turned 60 yet. (Very close, I just reached the magic 59 & 1/2 for pension/IRA withdrawals.....) The good 300 baud modem days.

Here is my first computer, one I built in High School.

And the second post was the Westin photos, which recently was topped off, so talking about old folks who don't notice things.....

But in reality, touching base with so many old friends this month due to D23 was a blast from the past, so very good folks that I still appreciate today.

Oh I dont. Tp2000 word is good enough for me. I just find it funny how others are making such a big deal over nothing.

Well, up to page 25 here at the DLR forum, and my mind is just like, where is this alternative universe.

Or did I dream of all those Sunday's I spent with Al Lutz, meetings at the Cheesecake Factory, having lunches with the OC Register staff and Editors, too many phone calls to count, having Al as my Best Man at Knott's Church of Reflections. Todd Regan did a Hand fastening ceremony as part of the ceremony also. Back then (late 1990's through the 2000's (First decade), Al wrote everything posted under his name. Back to the comedy thread.

I bet it played a mean game of Hunt the Wampus. Did you have the terminal?

Yes, I had the terminal, and the Floppy Drive accessory.

And also involved in multi-line BBS when they started. My roommate at the time invented/designed the first multi-line modem board of the Apple II. But I had friends with 20 lines coming into their homes to run them in the 80's. I only had 4, which included a voice line. And back then, monthly phone bills were NOT cheap.....

In the mid-70's, loved to use our classroom printer/modem to connect to the school district computer to play Star Trek. (No screen, the game was played on paper, a grid was printed out with every move.......)

Yeah that's what i figured about it catering to the families going to that sports venue. It's just weird seeing next to the Marketplace and a tiny strip mall. For a family visiting Disneyland from out of town, you are not gonna really get that resort vibe. Do you by chance have any updates on the development around Honda Center as well as the latest going on with the city and the Angels? Someone on one of the Angels board stated that he heard from a city employee that it's likely the Angels are moving to Long Beach.

...I did however play a lot of Infocom text adventures. Zork III rules!
Infocom was wonderful. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was the cruelest game ever made. :D
