An Incredible ride?

Lately, I've been thinking a little about the idea of having an Incredibles ride in DHS. It just seems like all the other Pixar films from Toy Story to Cars have been used as attraction ideas. So, why leave out the Incredibles? The reason is probably simple: its hard to come up with an idea that fits into the Incredibles storyline.

Well, what I thought would be cool would be to have the entire ride centering around the fact that you are a superhero, instead of just having a ride where you encounter the Incredibles sacking the crap out of a bunch of Syndromes or Underminers, like an IncrediCoaster or the proposed IncrediPods they were thinking of putting in DL. This would make marketing for the ride dramatically easier, and would easily rebut against the opposing forces of Universal and Sea World, who are apparently funding some E Tickets of their own (not that there would be any copetition anyway :animwink:). It would also fit into the whole 'Dreams Coming True' theme Disney World tends to dramatize (for ex, on the next vacation planning video, show some little kid who DREAMS of becoming a superhero).

Now to the main point: HOW would they realistically do it? Themetically, its easy. Guests could just have to walk through an IncrediMachine (or something) manufactured by Edna Mode and presto, they have super speed or whatever it is they want. But, once the guest is apparently assigned their new power, how would Walt Disney Imagineering make it seem like you're fighting with the Incredibles?

Thats where WDWMAGIC Imagineering comes in. :)

That's a great idea. That would also give Disney's Hollywood Studios some added enchantment. That park in particular is geared more towards young adult visitors and less so to younger crowds. And with Mickey's Pirates and Princess Party at MK, that would be an awesome foil. Maybe you could do Stars and Superheroes at DHS. If you did that, it wouldn't be so gender limited either. I think it is kind of cheap that the Mickey's Pirates and Princess Party is done in such a black and white way. Boys should be offered a Prince option if they favor fiary tales over swashbuckling and vice versa for girls. There are plenty of tomboys out there.

I agree

interesting topic....call for ideas?
I see 1 possible scenario for this concept. I'm sure I could come up with more but this is fly by the seat imagineering here.

I think it starts with your story:

One: Edna Mode has created a new accessory that will allow humans to take on incredi-powers and become a true superhero. After all Edna is somewhat of a fashion designer for the super-human. I would then use the same technology used at Pairs' Futuroscope attarction: Les animaux du futur for the basis of my attraction concept. Of course I'd turn the technology factor up a notch which I think WDI and Pixar could totally do with the help of R and D.

If you're not familiar with the attraction I'm talking about then, go to youtube and see the technology used and videos. It's pretty amazing. It's similar to what is trying to be used currently in theme parks today but the technology used at Furturoscope is 10x more advance than what anyone in the states are currently using for attractions.

Your storyline could go in many directions, it could be simply training facility where guests could try out their new powers.... or you could come up with an all new villain and have guests join in with the incredibles to take down the evil doer. I don't know really, but I think the technology could allow guests to pick what power they wanted before the attraction began. Possibly after the intro/pre show before boarding the ride vehicle. They then could board onto incredipods (see furturoscopes main tram that guests ride on) and then go through scene-by-scene helping to take down the villain.

It's just an idea. I would need to plus it more but once again this is the only way I can actually see giving non super power guests the ability to have Incredible powers while enjoying a sit-down ride through attraction.

Interesting. Do you have a link to that?
If I hadn't the technology you named, i would make the ride this way: a really cool preshow with AAs and projections to introduce the backstory, then, you chose the character you want to be (different queues).
For each queue there would be a different ride, but in the same space... the trains of each character (or ride) would interact with each other at given points of the attractions (dueling-dragons alike). That way, you could battle along with other teams, but the ending would be different in each case to make it seem as if YOU had saved the day.
