An evening at Epcot... what to do for dinner?

We will be spending the afternoon and evening at Epcot and hopefully staying for Illuminations the first full day of our trip. I just don't know what to do about dinner!

Here's why:
My husband will be doing DiveQuest at 4:30, ending around 7:30.

The kids and the grandmas and I will be able to watch his dive, but that wraps up around 6. In theory, it would be nice to catch a ride or two and meet daddy
for dinner after his dive. In reality, the kids are going to want to eat, like right away.

Hubby has said all he really wants is every baguette he can get from Les Halles, so that frees the rest of us up to explore! The trouble is, the kids eat like...kids.

I'm not Gwyneth Paltrow and my kids don't eat kale & brown rice.

The grandmas and I would be happy grabbing dinner from Les Halles, but I see nada for the kids. :-(
I made a 6 o'clock ADR for Chefs deFrance since i dig that place and my kids will eat there, and the prices are reasonable. I'm just not convinced it's the right option.

Oh, and we're not on the DDP.
I know there are tons of great TS options at Epcot, I'm not dim. I just don't plan to lay down the $$$.
Trying to keep it economical

What about La Hacienda de San Angel or San Angel Inn? Will the kids eat Mexican? You might be able to get away with an appetizer portion working for a child if they aren't thrilled about the kids menu.

Also, Via Napoli in Italy is known for their pizzas while also having entrees for adults.

Via Napoli was my first thought! Perfect! But no ADR times that work :-(

I didn't look at the Mexican options. They love fajitas & tacos, so maybe! Thanks!

If your kids will eat kids' menu items like grilled chicken, fish fingers & chips, meatballs, or sausage & mashed potatoes, you could go next door to Rose & Crown at the UK pavilion.

Also, Les Halles does have some simple, non-fussy items like a ham and cheese sandwich or a BLT. I'm sure they'd be happy to "hold the ham" and make up a grilled cheese sandwich for the kids, if you wanted to stick with Les Halles.

If all else fails, the grown-ups can get what they like from Les Halles "to go," and you can all carry it over to the American Pavilion, where the kids can get chicken nuggets or burgers, and you can all sit together there and eat. (My family does this sometimes -- if they all want burgers at Pecos Bill's and I'm hankering for kale, er, I mean, a lobster roll, from Columbia Harbor House, we get our food and rendezvous at a designated dining area to eat.) :)

I'm thinking a "food rendezvous" might be in our future! ;-)
We'll be there during the F&G show, and I just looked at what they're serving at the outdoor kitchens! Yum!
I'll gtab the nearest burger for the kids, then eat my way around WS!

There are so many incredible food options at Flower and Garden! Now I'm so excited for you! The topiaries and gardens are also beautiful, and if you're there on a weekend there is live music at the outdoor theater near the American pavilion. I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Have you thought about the Garden Grill in The Land Pavilion? It’s the revolving restaurant. Its family style serving and character dinning; making it a little pricey but the food is excellent and it’s a neat theme. Plus it’s right next door to the Living Seas.

Your kids would love Garden Grill, Liberty Inn, Via Napoli, or virtually any restaurant at EPCOT -- they all have good kids' choices. And honestly, I think they'd like Les Halles. I don't know any kid who wouldn't enjoy a grilled cheese sandwich, ham on a buttery croissant, or a fruit pastry.

I have to agree with other posters, Garden Grill and Via Napoli are good choices. Also consider Biergarten, it's a buffet with lots of choices or Restaurant Marrakesh, the food is mild and they might get a kick out of the belly dancer.
