An alternate take on Snow White's Enchanted Wish

With Snow White's Enchanted Wish being shown off this week, I'd though I'd do a bit of an alternate take on a Snow White refurb that uses the same new name and also adds in a happy ending. I will reuse the track layout, but not necessarily all the scenes. My main goal is to add a focus on the wish that the title suggests and restructure the ride to have more of a traditional flow.

Also the queue and exterior will be the same as what's been shown for Enchanted Wish.

Loading Station: The Dwarves’ cottage has been replaced with a large mural featuring all the Snow White characters in the center. Artwork to the left of the characters focuses on the Evil Witch and fades to the castle walls. Artwork to the right focuses on the forest and the Dwarves cottage with at the far end a stone bridge from where underneath vehicles emerge.

Guests board their wood carved vehicles near the Evil Queen’s Castle where they make a U-turn around the walls to see the first scene.

Scene 1: Inside the Evil Queen’s fortress’s courtyard, Snow White is looking into the wishing well while in the midst of doing her hard labor. She is singing to the doves, “I’m Wishing” while unknowingly being watched by two people. The Prince on top of the castle walls is ready to make his grand entrance for Snow White and the Evil Queen who is jealousy staring at Snow White through the ground level window. The cars make a turn into the castle as the majestic, ancient stone doors open.

Scene 2: First thing viewable inside the castle is a coat of arms, one torch on each side of the sacred symbol. The vehicle turns left and to the left side of the vehicle is the evil queen staring at Snow White outside. The Magic Mirror is nearby and tells her “Alas, Snow White is the fairest of them all” As the vehicle moves forward it can be seen that there’s a skeleton in chains on the wall. Shaking oddly enough.

Another one is seen across from that one trapped in a corner cell hanging from the ceiling. Last of all before the exit doors to the dungeon, a skeleton in chains with a cup in his hand is reaching for water from a nearby fountain. Barely out of reach. The dungeon’s gate opens revealing the forest outside.

The mine and Queen's Dungeon below are in the same place as they are in Scary Adventures. Both have been tweaked and the Queen's Dungeon has been shortened with the skeletons being moved to the aforementioned Queen's introduction scene.

Scene 3: The forest is filled with trees that look frightfully like ugly faces. There’s crocodile-like logs that appear to snap at us and bats with giant eyes that fly around. After a few turns through this nightmarish forest, a sign shows us that we’re out of the woods. The sign points out the dwarves’ mine to the right, their cottage can be seen in the distance. Time to enter the mine.

Scene 4: Entering the caves, the first thing seen straight ahead is a wooden clock. The time is 5:03 and the dwarves have left the mine. The dwarves singing “Heigh-Ho” can be heard from afar echoing throughout. To the right of the clock, there’s a minecart full of jewels and a key can also be seen twirling around a key rack.

The vehicles turn left and go straight down a tunnel full of gems, jewels and beautiful rock formations all surround. When the vehicles approach the end of the tunnel, an out of control minecart appears making a screeching sound out of nowhere and almost crashes into the vehicle. Thankfully it just stops just in time. The vehicles make their way out of the mine.

Scene 5: A vault that belongs to the dwarves’ is on the left. Straight ahead, two vultures on a branch point towards the Evil Queen’s castle. The large doors of the castle open and we enter a corridor. The Evil Queen is staring into the mirror as the raven looks shocked while standing on the Queen’s throne. The Queen exclaims “Magic mirror on the wall” and she turns around revealing that she’s transformed into the witch. The room becomes colorless as she says “This disguise will fool them all!”.

In the corner of the room, out of a giant pot comes out a cloud of smoke in the form of a spirit. The vehicles go toward the witch in her dungeon’s laboratory. She’s overlooking her cauldron holding her poison apple with her crow being shocked at her appearance. She asks us “Want an apple deary?” The vehicles exit her dungeon.

Outside, the witch is in her boat in the river near her castle’s walls. A sign nailed on a tree points out that the Dwarves’ Cottage is nearby. The vehicles turn and the Dwarves’ Cottage is indeed ahead and the doors open for us.

Final 3 scenes:
Scene 6: The inside of the cottage is quite untidy, but a celebration is going on inside. The Silly Song is playing inside. Animals are peering from outside. As the vehicles move further inside, Snow White is seen sitting clapping along with the music. In Front of her all of the seven dwarves are partying and playing their respective instruments except for Dopey and Sneezy who are ready to dance with Snow White.

As the vehicles turn away from the dwarves, Snow White is seen with an apple in her hand. The witch outside the window leans closer to Snow White and tells her “Take a bite and make a wish, dearie”. The doors to the cottage open and the sound of a storm can be heard.

Scene 7: It’s now the forest, raining outside as lightning occasionally strikes. Exciting chase music plays. Grumpy is seen riding a stag, leading the charge against the wicked witch. Dopey is also seen on a stage barely hanging on. Bashful points us towards the cliffs where the wicked witch has fled to. The vehicles enter a gorge where cliffs on either side have the dwarves charging towards the witch on the central rock formation.

The witch above us attempts to crush us with a giant boulder. She yells “I will be the fairest-of them-” She is struck by lightning and yells in agony as the vehicles enter a dark tunnel where on the other side is the happy ending.

Scene 8: The storm has cleared and the forest is calm. “Someday My Prince Will Come” is playing throughout. First things guests see when they enter the room are Snow White’s animal friends looking excitedly for what’s happening on their left. Once the vehicles turn we can see that they’re looking at the Prince leaning over to kiss Snow White from her deep sleep.

When the Prince kisses her the room brightens up in an almost heavenly way. The vehicles turn past Snow Whit’s awakening where the 5 of the dwarves are giving their goodbye. On top of a bridge Snow White, the Prince, Dopey, and Grumpy are waving goodbye. The prince’s castle can be seen in the distance. Guests go underneath the bridge, where once the final crash doors open a mural can be seen proclaiming “And they lived happily ever after”. Guests exit of their carts and go back into the Fantasyland courtyard.

Here's the layout of the ride. Black lines are the track, blue lines are walls, red lines are crash doors, red dots are approximate location of major props and figures, and tan lines represent major set pieces above the track:

Nothing can justify that name change. No need to re-invent the wheel. I appreciate you including the scary stuff which the new version guaranteed has changed or removed.

I would say a Snow White dark ride should ideally take guests through all the main locations from the film (castle, cottage, mine, and scary woods) while also providing a cohesive summary of the plot that makes sense to anyone unfamiliar with the story, as well as showing the relationships between the characters. In that regard, this is a pretty great plan for the refurbishment, and I like a few of the new details as well, such as the dwarfs' song echoing through the mine after they've left and the Witch's final quote. Lately, I've been trying to come up with the theoretical "best" Snow White ride myself, and it's certainly not easy to fit in everything without things getting a bit disjointed.
