I called AMC at PI today and they said they have installed the new Silver Oxide screen and all the equipment to play Chicken Little in Disney Digital 3D. The guy that I talked to said that they saw a 2 minute test clip and that it was awesome looking and very funny.
I'm a projectionist and i'm really excited about this new technology. From the articles i've been reading Disney could be revolutionizing the industry with this new technology. If this catches on, we could see alot more movies in high quality 3D. Industrial Light and Magic rendered the 3D version of Chicken Little and there is a rumor that they created a 3D version of Star Wars.
"...RealD and In-Three Inc., began to show their technology to Hollywood studios, encouraged by director George Lucas, who said he would like to release all six of his "Star Wars" movies in 3D format that can be shown in regular movie houses."

I'm coming out to WDW in 2 and a half weeks and i'm definitely gonna check out Chicken Little in 3D at PI.
