Am I the only one who thinks vocals should not be a part of the light parades?

Am I the only one... Spectromagic was an exception and a step below overkill as well as Dreamlights but I think its kind of tacky when each unit has Vocals added to each loop. I would like Paint the night allot more if it weren't for the vocals. I feel like thats a daytime parade element. I think Paint the night sounds to much like the daytime parade music scores.

In my opinion "On this magic night a million stars will play beside us cast a spell of light into our dreams!" (or something like that) is far better than a monotonous "dun-da-da-da-da-dun-dun-I'll-da-shoot-dun-myself-doo-before-da-this-dun-gets-doo-down-dah-Main Street-dun-da-da!"

As for PTN, the first time I listened to it I didn't like it, but the floats and colors make up for the music for me. I do agree the music feels more daytime parade-ish but I enjoy it more and more each time I watch a video of it :)

I'm probably the only one who likes the song that was used in DL's Light Magic with it's Celtic-ish vibe to it...But, that's just me tho...

Hmmmm interesting point. Maybe that's why I like elp most of any parade. That and the simplicity combined with scale.

OP, I always thought PTN's music sounded like daytime parade music as well. It's definitely on the more upbeat side of the spectrum, if you will...doesn't make it strictly bad, though. Spectro was way on the other end with its majestic, 3/4-time main theme, while something like Fantillusion was around the middle.

Oh, you didn't like Spectro? "On this magic night a million stars will play beside us cast a spell of light into our dreams!" (or something like that) is far better than a monotonous "dun-da-da-da-da-dun-dun-I'll-da-shoot-dun-myself-doo-before-da-this-dun-gets-doo-down-dah-Main Street-dun-da-da!"

I think Lands of Wonder was saying they liked that parade.

I guess I should read things more closely :P Thank you, and I edited my first comment. Guess I'm quick to defend Spectro. Never have gotten over losing it...

They nailed it with Spectromagic, I haven't seen them nail a parade music score like that since. No matter what they build it just doesn't live up to the lineup, music score and work put into it. It was just right and they had a good balance between instrumental and vocals. I'm waiting for the day they reuse that music score.
