Am I the only one who likes DCA's Little Mermaid ride?

Am I the only one who actually likes the Little Mermaid ride (at DCA)? Sure, it isn't perfect, but I've been wanting to see a dark ride of this kind happen for a long time. Sure, it's not a replica of the ride seen on the Little Mermaid DVD, but it's better than nothing. I've actually thought it was kind of cute.

No, you're not the only one. I like Mermaid, INCLUDING the facade and queue. I think it's beautiful. Is Mermaid up there with the Fantasyland dark rides, in my opinion? No, but it's a decent ride, something I wouldn't mind waiting five minutes for.

Actually, I think it is up there with the Fantasyland dark rides, if only because like them, this, too, is themed to a Disney movie.

You are not alone. Big little mermaid fan here and when we were in Anaheim for 6 days we went every day on the ride :)

Sure, it could have been better but I really love it.

I like it! I think that as a ride, it's nothing super ground-breaking but it's a cute, dark-ride meant for the whole family. That being said however, I think the queue area is beautiful.

The day we went to DCA we rode it three times. Once was just killing a few minutes before World of Color. But it is a ride that loads very well with maybe a 2 minute wait the times we were there. This is the kind of thing Disney needs to make more of and is why I think we love the dark rides the way we do. Love the "Under the Sea" part that you are going through. Overall it is an immersive ride

Not quite sure where you got the idea that people didn't like it from. I personally think it is ok, the story doesn't work though and the ride needs to be extended or cut down the Under the Sea part. For example you see Ursula turn Ariel into a human and then you see Ursula being killed at comeplete random without her actually doing anything bad and then you see human Ariel and Eric getting married. It would seem Urusula made Ariel's dream come true and was killed because of it lol They need to add an extra scene of Ursula actually doing something bad before she is killed and a battle scene and then they should get married.

Unless you have seen the film then the ride doesn't make much sense.

Well, I've just heard some people say that the ride isn't perfect and how it's beneath their high levels of expectations.

We did it on our first family trip to DL this past June and loved it. I will say, the queue in WDW is way better (as there really isnt one in DL)!! As for the ride, the entire family loved it!!

Story is conveyed just as well as the Fantasyland dark rides. Toad's ride consists of destructive driving, hitting a bar, being pronounced guilty (of what?), getting hit by a train and ending up in hell. If that's not hard to follow and senseless, I don't know what is. Peter Pan is atmospheric at best, certainly not linear, same for Snow. Pinocchio does an okay job of telling the story, but the cuckoo finale is a bit odd.

I'm not quite sure what people expected from Mermaid. I enjoy it, and I certainly appreciate its high capacity, low wait status. I'm also a fan of the building, just gorgeous.
