Am I an ignorant tourist? or something else...

Being from Illinois, I've not been able to soak myself in the happiness that is DisneyWorld more than a few times in my life. How do Floridians percieve us outsiders? When I travel around, I've tried not to act foolish, nor have I tried to act ignorant of rules to simply avoid them. I do no think that I'm a tourist, merely someone who has a long-distance relationship with the Kingdom.
Of course, Walt spent more than a few years in my neck of the woods.... heh.

I can Disney with the best of you... For someone who lives so far away, I think its pretty amazing that I can find my way around the Magic Kingdom and Epcot with my eyes closed.

This whole topic started when one of my friends who lives in Orlando called me a tourist when I told him I wished to move to Florida to move closer to the parks. He's been spoiled and doesn't like going to them much anymore.

My step-grandparents own a large tract of land somewhere in Orlando, and I was thinking of building a house on it, and moving out of Illinois...

The only time a tourist bothers me (as a local)..is when they do ignorant things...like make comments about how Floridians dont know what rain is...or how they are spending too much cash at the parks (as if someone is forcing them to buy stuff)...

The only other time i get "bothered" is during "the season" and it gets overcrouded...but i solve that problem by just not going ;)

I always blend in...I always make a habit to speak with the guy behind me in Splash Mountain or the old lady next to me watching Carousel of Progress...Upon entering MK...we just become one family. Tourist or not tourist.
