AM EMH Question

Hello all! We will be checking in to POFQ on Friday!!! YAYYYY! My question is: If we arrive at 7:30am will we be able to "check in" to take advantage of Epcot's AM EMH? I know our room won't be available but I would like to get a couple of TT rides in before the crowds hit

Yes you can! Yes you should.

if you've got bags (not on the DME) you can drop them at the front desk and head to the parks.

You could, but the odds of checking in and getting to Epcot in less than 30 minutes are a bit slim. If it were me, I'd hit a 9:00 opening at another park. But you aren't me and should totally go to Epcot if you have your heart set on it!!!

so, I should probably get to POFQ by 7 then. Leads me to another question: Are AM EMH worth it? Is it significantly less crowded than a rope drop?

It is well worth your while to use EMH. Not only do you beat the mobs heading to Test Track and Soarin' but you get an hour in the parks when it is a little cooler.
I would contact French Quarter, find out when the first EPCOT bus will be arriving and make your plans based on that. Enjoy.

Morning EMHs are definitely worth it, but on my trip in June, it seemed like they didn't help nearly as much as spring break (when we typically go). I don't know if people were just up earlier, the crowds were bigger, or we weren't as effective with our strategies.

Possibly. Maybe not a complete walk on but nothing like the insane wait times they post later on in the day.

Since there are no fp's in the morning emh, the lines, even if a little long, are very fast.

I've been to WDW literally hundreds of times and never done AM EMH

The lines are shorter when the park opens, whether using EMH or not. EMH time is a little better, but after that first hour, it is more crowded than other parks, so you really need to take advantage of that hour to balance it all out.

I do just as much by noon at a non-EMH park as I do by noon in an EMH park.

In the summer, I'd use the EMH and bail around noon or one, then go to another park in the evening.

Yeah, basically my plan is this: My fiancee won't be meeting me at POFQ until around 6pm, so I am going to "check in" early and try to ride as many epcot rides as possible before going back to the room (hopefully ready) and swimming or napping.

Same here. We hit MK at 12:00 one morning and rode every major ride there by 2:00 a.m. We were hustling, but didn't want to fight the MK crowds on Saturday morning.
