through a little experience, i was able to traverse Disney World many different ways. Here are the alternatives and things you should look for may deciding on your Disney Transportation.
Magic Kingdom - my biggest pet peeve is the TTC and the (in my opinion) stupid ride to Magic Kingdom through the monorail/ferry, I just think it is a big time waster. So i found out ways to avoid the TTC
-First, the Resort buses do take you right up to Magic Kingdom. So if you are at a resort take it to avoid the TTC.
-Though, you can also take resort bus back to a resort and then transfer to Magic Kingdom bus (problem: this may not save you any time, but avoids the TTC).
-Another is taking the Contemporary Resort bus and walking to Magic Kingdom. (problem...resort buses is slower than the theme park buses...though it avoids the TTC). You could also take a bus to the Poly, and walking to the TTC.
-Secondly, NOT ALWAYS TAKING THE EXPRESS MONORAIL. this one is key because all the guest take that monorail. if you see the express monorail busy, take the resort monorail. It is a big time saver sometimes though it is slower. Usually it faster and less crowded on busy days
-The Ferry. Yes, it can save you time, especially when the express monorail is clogged with people. FACT: the ferry and monorail can get to Magic Kingdom in the same time If they leave at the same time.
-Disney's Hollywood Studios
-First, buses. Normal busing here, but a few alternatives exist. The Yacht and Beach, Swan and Dolphin, and Boardwalk is close to Hollywood Studios. So, if you are leaving The Studios or starting at Studios, then you can use resort buses at these resort to easily escape back home or going to Studios. (The Boardwalk is the closest resort to the Studios and requires a 5-10 minute walk to the Studios.)
-Boat. WHAT? you may say? a boat? Yes, the Friendship Boats take guest from Epcot all the way to Hollywood Studios. It also takes stops at the resorts of Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin, and Yacht and Beach. This boat ride is long...probably 30+ minutes, but if you want a relaxing ride to Epcot/Studios, here it is! (Note: it drops you off between U.K. and France)
-Walk. I briefly hinted to this, but there is a path that leads from Epcot to Studios. It is about a 20-30 walk...depending on how fast you walk. (i was able to walk it in 10 minutes for reservations at the Bier Garten...it was very important! lol). Probably the quickest way if you are up for the walking. Though, it is a little confusing on how to get to Epcot/Studio, please ask someone first before attempting.
-Epcot
-really not much to say about Epcot because it is basically the same to Studios. Just keep in mind, boat, walk path, and resorts (Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin, Yacht and Beach). In my opinion, Epcot has the nicest parking lot around....no need to find alternatives.
-Animal Kingdom
- There is no alternative to Animal Kingdom. you have to take your car or buses to it. You can always go to Animal Kingdom Lodge, but it is a waste of time. Also, everyone goes to Animal Kingdom in the morning and leaves the afternoon. The buses for Animal Kingdom will be busy in the morning....no way around that.
