Allegiant Air question

For those who have flown on Allegiant Air, I have a question for you. I was looking at their luggage requirements and I think my suitcases are too big. The website stated 80 inches. Do you measure it all the way around or what? My suitcase is 26" upright and I've got another that is 30" upright.
If I measured my suitcases all the way around, they are way too big. Am I reading it right?

They measure it by dimensions... Length+Width+Depth <= 80"

Hey, for $29 each way - I'll deal with it  As opposed to $400-600 round trip into MCO from where I live.

That's why I went on & booked our fare. We were planning to drive from Louisiana, but with fare that cheap, who could pass it up?! Even with the extra fees tacked on, we still saved $1000 on what it would cost us to drive! I was just worried about the luggage requirements!

No
yea but i am under 25 so a rental car cost an extra 25 bucks a day plus you have to deal with a bunch of taxes for a rental. For my honeymoon i am going MCO with the magical express and skipping the extra fees. If allegiant is still operating in a year and half I will be flying allegiant again.

Yes, there is a trade off to $29 one-way fares (plus taxes & fees will put it around $60-$80) on Allegiant Air. You end up either in Sanford (45 min) or Clearwater (90 min) which means you need to arrange other transportation. Usually it means a car rental and those are getting really expensive and could easily out pace the savings of Allegiant over the majors into MCO.

I like no connections via Allegiant, smaller airports and freedom of a car during my visit but these days it surely costs quite a bit more for all that convenience. Use to be a more equal comparison.

I wish they offered Magical Express from Sanford! That would be sweet!
