All You Need is a Dollar and a Dream

So, tomorrow the MegaMillions jackpot is going to be close to $260 million. I figure after I pay off my credit cards I should have about $2 million left....and I have told everyone I know if I ever won, I would take them to Disney. [I never promise to take people to London, Hawaii, cruises... just Disney! :D]

This morning I found $2 in the parking lot of work. It was raining, but hey, money is money and I swooped that up and figured this HAS TO BE a sign to play the lottery.

I could see myself taking 50 people to Disney and just saying, put it on my bill....which got me to thinking - what resort would I want to stay in, and what other perks would I want... I have friends who have struggled with job losses, health issues, etc and they are on my list to come along, and a few of my cousins and other relatives....

It kept coming back to me that I would want to stay at the Poly... never having stayed there, but it's secretly calling to me. Once I book my 50 rooms, I am going to look into renting out one of the parks for an evening and making it a really special trip. [Of course, everyone on these boards is invited!!]

What would you do if you won the lottery? Where would you stay? Anything special you would do? Anyone you would invite to make their trip even more magical??

I would stay on Disney property for as long as I could with all that money. Go to the parks everyday and do whatever else I could think of. Blow my money on any special thing I could think of because of all the excitement and joy I would have from having that much money. Then end up regretting not saving a little bit of that money, but then reminding myself it was all worth it.

$260 Million...First off for me..I'd move straight to Florida and drop a decent 1.5 Million for a house at Golden Oaks and just the Benefit of it is this..

From Disneygoldenoak.com
The Golden Oak Experience includes family resort-living amenities such as the custom designed Summerhouse facility (including private dining, family room with game area and complete fitness center), community events, proximity to Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World® Resort, and parks, gardens and recreation areas; concierge-style resident services (transportation, pre-arrival/post-departure services); and Disney Connection (allows families a way to experience a special kind of Disney through Extra Magic Hours Benefit, merchandise delivery, golf package and door-to-park transportation).

Families who close on the purchase of a homesite or completed home in the exceptional luxury community before December 31, 2013, will receive one complimentary 3-year VIP Pass for the homebuyer, providing admission for the Passholder and up to 4 guests. The special Golden Oak VIP Pass will allow admission to allWalt Disney World® Theme Parks, both Water Parks, DisneyQuest® Indoor Interactive Theme Park and ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex every day of the year with no block-out dates. Also included are complimentary parking for one car and discounts up to 10% on select merchandise purchased at select Walt Disney World® Resort Theme Park or Downtown Disney® area locations.
Other than that I'll be retired and enjoying the good life..

I'd buy a house up north near my dad and spend all summer and a lot of other time there.

Both of my houses would have OLYMPIC size pools. Not "we say its Olympic size, but it really isn't" Olympic. The real deal. A pool where you can swim for a bit without having to flip every two seconds.

I'd donate a lot. Give some to good friends. Pay for private schools for some kids.

Get some new furniture. And I'd buy a bunch of clothes, shoes and purses.

That's it. :)

Pay off our bills and our houses ( my Mom & Dad's too). Give money to our church to pay off the mortgage ( our church is brand new). Save for boys' college fund. Give as much money as we can to charity. We'd both quit our jobs, and buy a house at Golden Oaks ( of course) or keep our homes, stay where we are and buy DVC(GF)- the most points we can get in order to take a Disney Cruise and an Adventure By Disney!:D Visit all Disney Parks around the World!:D

Well, my kids are furry and have four legs... but they have run up quite the vet bills over the past few years...

But I have lost my main job, had the transmission in my truck go, and have patched together enough small jobs to barely pay the bills... still, I am hopeful that tomorrow will be the start of something new and better!!

Funny you say that.... when I was young, I always wanted to write for television.... well, right after New Year's I started to write a tv movie.... and part of the plot revolves around song writing (and dogs!).... I wrote about three quarters of the treatment, then got sidetracked...really need to get back to it....

Though I love Disney, I can take probably about two weeks of it at one time at the most. Maybe I'd stay a few nights at each hotel for a trip? Or who knows, I'd probably just stay at the good ol' All Star Sports for two weeks (Priority room of course haha). Maybe try the dining plan? (I don't snack much though, so it might be a waste) I'd look into sending my mom down there at least once a year for a week at a time. Well, if I won enough, maybe I'd give it Disney to solely invest in adding shine to Carosel of Progress. Regardless, if I won the lottery, you'd see my happy butt in Disney each year :D

EDIT: oh, I got confused I think. Some of that $$$ will be going to my church, my nana & papap, my mom, and the rest of the family, and I'd probably put some money into the local airport we have here that works on WW2 planes and keeping the memory of WW2 alive, and like the person above stated, they also sponser WW2 vets.
