Not according to any official Knott's info I can find, at the very least.

“Opens at 7:00 pm and closes at 1 or 2 am”

But you have to enter by 7:15 pm?
This was only for the "Nightmares Revealed Announcement Event" on August 19th not for the regularly scheduled Knotts Scary Farm nights. You can enter up to closing as far as I know I have gone pretty late because I get a Season Pass.

I think that was just their announcement event.
Confirmed. That was for the press announcement event. It has nothing to do with regular scary farm. With my pass, I've gotten in later in the evening. They still let people in all the way till closing.

On a regular day, I've seen people entering with ten minutes left till closing. They run in for take out food with their food pass. It's like going to McDonalds to pick up dinner for the kids.

oh interesting. I’m not sure what means. It was a 1 time thIng
They hold this event "Nightmares Revealed" about a month before Opening Night to announce what's to come for the upcoming year. Here is what the night line up was all timed probably why they want guest in at a certain time so they can corral everyone. There was very limited offerings.

I’m ok with no new show in Walter Knott, there wasn’t really any last year either (Elvira on a video screen doesn’t count) just as long as the Haunted Houses remain high quality and we still have the hanging and the circus acts. Honestly, Puppet Up got old after a year, the only thing that’s worked in there was Elvira and Ed Alanzo. They might just be better off doing an in house production. Their sister park Cedar Point has a show called Wake the Dead. Where we are invited to a reading of the last Will and testament of a wealthy man. We are informed by the lawyer (guess who he is) that one of the realitives attending tonight killed him, the suspects being the wife, mistress, son or brother. They then sing a song as their defense on why it wasn’t them (songs are varied from Cell Block Tango to Paradise by the Dashboard Light.) The audience at the end picks the gulity party who sings an encore and then “inherits the estate.” The only thing that’s makes me warry is the theatre may be too big for something like that.

I think the 50th show freaked out too many people. The ending dance numbers in hell with the rain curtain was amazing but a little too sexual for some vocal prudes.
Those shows have always been "naughty." They've been advertising it as "Ghouls Gone Wild" in the past. Ed Alonzo and Dr Cleaver shows were always PG-13 in there.

Remember when they cancelled the Hanging in 2019? They hung the lawman. It was totally quite when the tombstone was displayed. It came back in 2023 of course.

I remembered that year all too well.

The Hanging in 2019 was even connected to Origins that debuted that year as evidenced by the dark setting of the show. Outside of 2019, the show was self aware that it was in a theme park but in 2019, they were more "in theme" with Ghost Town with most of the characters except for the Devil unaware of the pop culture jokes.

Then the ending with the lawman being hung and the tombstone, everyone around me was quiet when the show ended.

The first two seasons since the Covid reopenings, I remembered adjusting to Scary Farm without the Hanging. And then I got excited when they announced it returning in 2023.

Looks like Knotts Haunt is a little leary about attendance this year with no big show in the theater and now Wednesdays have been removed from the schedule . Six Flags Fright Fest has removed Thursdays. I know previously Wednesdays was light on crowds and mostly felt like passholders so probably a good business decision.

Attendance is down all over the place thanks to a variety of factors (economic issues, ICE fears, etc.). We're trying to plan our Greek Festival in October, and we've had to adjust our attendance projections way down because of the trends we've seen in the area.

Anyone, Bloody Mary tomorrow?

Knotts Scary farm opens tomorrow night.
Got to experience this last night. Very well done but not enough Haunt Monsters in it. Maybe it was a just a rehearsal night thing but all the mazes seemed to have that same lacking feeling except maybe the Zoo. They all played their roles great and cant wait to see how they grow with it throughout the season. I will be in the Fog tomorrow as well.
