All-Stars Movies Reservation Question

My son and I will be staying at the ASM for the Christmas holidays. We would love to stay in either the Buzz or Woody section. Should I request a preferred room to increase my chances of getting one of these sections?

Personally, I'd fax them and request the Buzz or Woody section. I've faxed in a room request twice, and once I got it and once I didn't. It doesn't hurt to try.

Absolutely - If you call them now, I can't imagine there would be any problem. Since that is a busy week, you won't want to wait though. Disney is usually very accomidating in these type of requests.

Have you ever stayed at the All Star Movie Resort??? Personally, it is my absolute favorite.

I'm staying there for 3 nights in September, and then going to Old Key West for 5 nights, because we got a great deal through someone that has a time share studio there. I just noticed that September rates for the All Stars are just $55 a night, so I'm gonna see if I can somehow switch it so I'm spending all 8 nights at the Movies.

ASM perferred rooms are in the Fantasia buildings. $10 a night extra and you get nothing extra for that  Unless of course you like to hear noise from the pool at 11 P.M.

The walk from any building at ASM to anywhere at ASM is short. I have stayed at Fantasia and Dalmations. I perfer Dalmations. :D You can walk around and see the Buzz and Woody stuff, take pictures of your son by them etc without staying in them. :)

If you do have to stay there, fax your request and then be very very nice to the CM at check-in. I have always been able to get what I want at check-in even over the Christmas/NY holidays. :D

ASM is a great choice, enjoy.

People at times tend to complain about the walking at ASMovies. I don't mind it at all. In fact, my travel agent brought that up as 1 reason I shouldn't stay there.

I've stayed at Toy Story and Mighty Ducks. Mighty Ducks area is VERY quiet. I'd actually like to stay at the Fantasia buildings. I like being in the middle of all the action.

That's one reason I love the ASResorts so much. Lots of people say they don't like it because of all the kids that stay there. I actually like that. I think the All Stars are just pure Disney. The pool area. The check in area. The food court. The gift shop. Everything about it.

I personally called 4 days before arriving and requested the Toy Story buildings. We ended up in the Woody building. I believe CR only accepts room requests no more than 5 days prior to arrival. With it being the Christmas season, you may not get your request. As previously mentioned, the preferred rooms are the Fantasia buildings, next to the Mickey pool and main building. We were on the outside (parking lot side) of the Woody building, and it was fantastically quiet. And my son loved where we stayed. :sohappy:

The day of your check-in, get there early. They can check you in before official "check-in time." You just cant go to your room then. They will hold your luggage for you until you can get back to check in. ****The earlier you check in, the greater your chance of getting the area you want.**** REMEMBER that!!!! Most people don't request anything, so if you contact them 5 days before AND request it at check in (VERY EARLY IN THE DAY), there is a good chance you will get it. ......Hope this helps....
