All Star Resorts

I am planning a trip in May and was debating between All Star Movies and Pop Century. Just wondering if anyone had any opinions as to which was better (transportation, noise)?

The 3 All-Stars and Pop Century are the value resorts and are almost ALL virtually the same except for how they are decorated. Pop Century is newer and is much bigger, but like I said...all virtually offer the same value and such.

As for noise, you're going to get noise at any of the ones you stay at, but to be honest, I would guess you would get the LEAST amount of child noise at Music. I say this simply because sports is well...kids love gigantic footballs and basketball goals. Movies has the Dalmations hanging around, Buzz and Woody, among others. Pop Century has a giant can of play-dough, huge big wheel sitting around. Music has big maracas and a giant sax, not so much what young children would be more interested in.

But like I said, that's just a thought, and more so you are looking at four very same, yet differently decorated resorts.

We've stayed at all the all stars and pop. Do you have kids? what are your touring plans? We go early and stay late. I like Movies more than Pop, but if you don't go early you may share buses at the other two all stars, where Pop has its own buses. all stars don't always share esp. in the early am and late pm. but in the middle its a chance. we cant complain about the bus service at any of them.

I like the layout of movies more than pop, dalmations is not a pay extra for closeness but it is close to pools, laundry, buses & food court. I think for us Movies just felt more "Disney" in its theme..Dalmations, Toy Story, Fantasia, Love Bug..but Pop has a better kiddie pool area. Good luck, but either way you go, your at disney and staying onsite so how bad could it be?

I'd go with Pop as it is the newest and don't have the chance of sharing buses.

I wasn't too impressed with Movies. The food court was always crowded and the wait and lines for the buses were not ideal. I was in the Mighty Ducks section and it was actually faster for me to walk over to Music and eat at their food court, which was less crowded, and wait in shorter lines for shorter amounts of time for the buses at Music. On occasion, depending on the park and time of day, the AS resorts do share buses.

Pop Century is the way to go just for the simple fact of not having to share buses with 2 other resorts. Put this image in your mind: It's 11:00 p.m. and you have just left Magic Kingdom. It's the middle of July. Hotter than Hallie Berry. You have sweat running down your crack like Niagra Falls. You get on the bus and there are way too many people on there. You have to stand there with the rest of the smelly folks for the longest ride in the world. You are one of the unlucky stinkers that's gonna get dropped off last. Imagine all the others funk folks rubbing on you while they squeeze by you. Not a pretty thought is it? Pop Century on the other hand will probaly also have the stinky people but when the doors open at the resort, no matter if you are standing or sitting, THIS IS YOUR STOP. Trust me. Been there. Done both. Pop is the way to go.

I agree that Music has much less "kid noise" than the rest of the All Stars. We are staying at Pop Century from May 6-11 this year for a change, but All star Music is fantastic. You do have to share buses with Movies and Sports quite frequenty, I will say the 3 times we have stayed there we have had to share a bus with all three almost always, unless the bus fills up at Sports and Music. It seems the buses run in that order, Sports first, then Music and finally Movies, but I can't say that with 100% accurancy. It is quite frustrating trying to fit everyone from all 3 resorts on one bus, but it happens. That was our main reasoning for choosing Pop this year, it has its own bus. But overall I highly recomment All Star Music, especially the Broadway area.

The first time I visited DIsney, I stayed at the All-Star Movies resort. Many times we couldn't get on buses cause they were virtually full from Music and Sports since Movies was the third stop. Like mentioned above, Pop has its own buses which was pretty cool to me. I have stayed at Pop twice and will be staying there this summer. I just really like it.

I've Stayed In Both

I GUESS I WOULD SAY POP, THE BUSES ARE A LITTLE BETTER, & THERE ARE MORE QUIET SPOTS. YOU MENTIONED NOISE, BETWEEN THE CURRENT POP & THE ONE THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IS A BIG LAKE. I FOUND MYSELF GO TO THE BRIDGE TO FEED THE FISH,TURTLES, BIRDS WHEN I NEEDED A MOMENT OF PIECE & TO SNEAK A CIGARETTE, VERY RELAXING & QUIET. GO WITH POP.:lookaroun
