Me and A few of my friends are planning to go to Disney in May after we get out of school for the year. Is the All Star resort a nice place to stay or would it be better off going to someplace else. Also which All Star is the best to stay at?

transportation from the all starts can be crowded but mainly during the most crowded times of year. i dont think it is unsafe tho...you want unsafe...just ride a NYC transit bus standing up (life altering experience) Any hotel in disney u stay at tho your gonna get squished on buses from time to time (and ppl are just downright rude...ive been forced to stand on a bus full of ppl while being visibly 6 months pregnant but none of the ppl around me seemed to care), especially at the park closing times....those are the worst....ur best bet is to be the last ones out of the park...disney will NEVER leave a guest behind so theres no need to run for the buses like you butt is on fire.
All in all....the all stars are good hotels for not alot of money (and the movies is usually the quietest)

I have to agree about the NYC buses being a life altering experience!!! lol The most scary part was turning corners every now and then...if it wasn't for the middle being flexible like most are, we would have tipped over numerous times!!

My experience with Disney transportation has been excellent for 6 years in a row! The longest wait time we ever had was in 2000 coming back from Magic Kingdom going to Port Orleans (French Quarter) ...The wait time was about 45 minutes. The buses do get very crowded in the early morning and late night...but I am ALWAYS one to give up my seat for an older person or someone who looks way more tired than me. I have also had many dad's offer their seat to my mom and I. I never thought any guests were ever rude on the buses. Always an enjoyable experience. Especially when we get the sing a longs going =) (I have started those waaay too many times  :)

...DO stay on propety!!! It really makes all the difference!!! Sooooooo much better!

Totally agree. We've never stayed anywhere BUT on-property, and can't imagine doing otherwise. Even though the All-Stars may not be the crown jewels of WDW resorts, if you're on a budget, they still give you many Disney touches you can't get anywhere else.

I just returned from ASMo and I don't really agree with the posters who make it seem like the All Stars are a just a cheap place to sleep. I think you can have even more fun there than you can anywhere else at Disney.

For one thing, the pool and bar and food court are all in one big area. It can be a lot of fun to hang out and go swimming and eat lunch or dinner. The music piped in along the walkways is not some fake "theme" stuff, it's actually some songs you may have heard before. There is a lot of energy in the All Stars: young families finding the Disney magic for the first time. Compared to the convention resorts like CSR or SwanDolphin, the All Stars are much more fun, in my opinion.

I stayed at all star music and it was fine! Except for the huge crowds of summer, the place was very enjoyable! It also saves money for stuff such as transportation!

A room is 100$ a night (average cost) but you can bring 3 more people so that would make it only $25 a night!!! Pretty cheap, I think....

But you should consider this: If you stay off-site you will be able to stay longer........... The question is, what would you preffer?
