We have found All Star Music to be a good fit for us. It has always been clean and well maintained on both of our stays. Our room was located in building 10 which left us a very short walk to the food court and buses.

The bussing was always efficient and we only shared buses to Disney Springs and Animal Kingdom.

Remember that ASM is the middle of all the All Star Resorts, at the end of the night if the line for the bus back to ASM is really long you can always take one of the Sports or Movies buses. It is a short walk back to Music.

Love All Star Music! :) If you booked a preferred room, you'll be close to Melody Hall and transportation, but it might be louder. Basically, the further back into the resort you go, the quieter it will be, pools included. There's a nice little fountain in between the Jazz buildings that's a nice touch that the other All Stars don't have.

We stayed at AS Music back in 2015 and the rooms looked recently renovated. They were much nicer than I expected based on the more negative reviews I had read. We enjoyed our time there, which was a slower part of the year, but that seems like when you will be going as well. I would suggest requesting a building close to the lobby/transportation area as possible. We stayed in the Jazz section which was fairly close. But there are buildings that are FAR away from the bus stop. After a day at the parks, I couldn't imagine having to walk a quarter-to-a-half mile to get to my room. If you have a car, it might be worth it to drive to MK, as it is a bit of ways away. But then again, it shouldn't be all that bad in September regarding traffic, etc.
