All Star Music food court down during our stay...what to do?

We have a family of 7, my brother has a family of 5 and my parents were also staying at Music in Sept. We do usually grab Breakfest in the morning , have a few lunches and random snacking through our stay in the food court, my parents and my brother are both on thier 1st Visit. DH and I were just discussing that we would like to switch resorts but am thinking b/c of Free Dining we won't be able too and espically my family since we must have a suite or two rooms ( suite is almost always cheaper) to accomodate our 5 children. My brother and his family are also booked an suite but my parents in a standard room. It seems like a pain to move us and they availbity is probaly not there...I contacted our Kimgdom Konsultant Agent and hopefully she will have some Imput as well. Just though I would ask you all, the members here know everything!
Am I overreacting? Thoughts? Past expierence with food court rehab in other resorts?
Thanks!

I assume Music is getting a major refurb like sports. When is the rehab taking place? Because of the suites your family has - you are better of at Music (or have you looked into AoA?) When a food court goes down for an extended period of time - they usually have grab and go lunches at the arcade and bus transportation (I think) to sports and movies so you can enjoy their food court. Sports food court is amazing now

I believe that at AOA regular room that my parents would stay in were not included in Free Dining just the suites. It just a pain the rump to go to a different resort for Breakfest on our way to the parks, huge time wasted. The days we eat lunch in the food court are days we were taking a rest, not very restful to head to a different place to eat. My parents also paid for a Prefered room, so /meals would be closer. We will drive to the parks as we don't like to deal with waiting for busses a none of you want to be behind us as our stroller and kids get settled during a busy bus night. I know my parents are going to be irritated to pay a Prefered rate to be close to a gas station grab and go food court...

In that respect - it makes perfect sense. If you drive to the parks though - you could always drive to Sports or Movies first then head to the parks. But either way its a inconvenience especially when paying for the preferred room.

I had the same problem, I switched to Sports, then realized I could try out
Pop. Pop was $85 more, but that's not bad. The only other value resorts are the suites at AoA, or All Star Sports .. Good luck, hope it all turns out well for you

Try to switch. Music would be a bad option for your family. Try 5 rooms (no suites) at Sports? It's better to go through a small hassle now changing resorts than a hassle multiple times each day on vacation. If you do stay with music, I would ask to be comped the increase in price for the preferred room your parents have.

When I stayed AS Music in October, Sports was having their refurb, so everyone there came over to the Intermission Food Court, and it was often VERY crowded.

I found a map of the All Star area and am curious from thoose of you that walked? How long, just a few minutes? Am thinking of a room request in Calypso building 1 would put us close.
Thanks:)

My son and I were in the rooms (rooms were at the back of the resort) by the parking lot that was next to the entrance of all star music. We just walked out our room, across the parking lot and up the sidewalk and thru the front doors of all star music.

Edited to say that the walk was about 3-4 maybe 5 minutes tops!!!
