What are y'alls thoughts on this resort? We're staying at POFQ from September 8-19th, but we are staying in town until the 25th. We were going to just have them extend the room for us, but it would have been $1004. Since we'll have APs we were just going to stay off-site but we wanted to take advantage of the EMH and stay at a Value. Switching over to ASMovies would only be $603. That's not too shabby, and it's only double what the little off-site hotel would have been but with much better perks.

Any info would be great, thanks!

Movies was great for us last September! Obviously it's the time of year that helps, but I didn't feel like it was crowded at all! We were in a Mighty Ducks room that was furthest from the lobby and bus (yet literally still less than 5 min away) and caught the Music bus many times and walked back to our room. It worked great! We never waited more than 10 or 15 min for the bus. Also since Movies is excluded from Free Dining this fall, it might be even less crowded for you.

The theming of the resort is so Disney - it makes me so happy. The pools and food court were standard, but since it is the newest of the All Stars, it looked like it was in great shape. Loved our stay!

We think it is the best of the All Stars. Be prepared for tighter quarters than a moderate. That doesn't bother us though. If you are going to be on the go most of the time you should be fine. Try to get close to the Lobby/Food Court if you don't want to hike to get drinks or to catch the bus. It may be crowded though because of the Music's food court getting a refurb. Have a great trip.

We're open to close at the parks, so we just need the comfy beds. And we drive a rental car so no worries about the buses either. It will be cool to try a new resort.

We loved staying there last Nov for the first time. I have stayed in all category hotels over the years at Disney. I will say that being on this board, actually had me scared arriving to the hotel because for some reason people love to bash All Star resorts.

Once we got checked in though, our worries subsided and we had a wonderful stay there! We stayed in Toy Story section and was close to the food and pool. We loved it an so did my boys!

We really liked AS Movies and it was our resort of choice before becoming DVC members. If you are getting a preferred room, the Toy Story section is great. There are tons of great photo ops there. We liked the Mighty Ducks section for a standard room. The MD pool is great and it is a short walk to either the Movies or the Music food courts/stores, etc.

As mentioned the beds are smaller than a moderate resort and the rooms are smaller as well.

Never stayed at any of the All Stars but that would be the one we would pick :)

I wish I could be open to close at the parks but getting old sucks. If all you want is a shower and bed then make sense to do what you are doing for sure to get EHMs.

Oh and we LOVE POR, great resort (both sides), if you have some pool time head over to Riverside and their pool, I think it is really cool, and the PORS movie under the stars is in such a great location at Riverside it is a great why to cap on a day.

We are 215 days out form our next trip :(

We have stayed at all levels...and now that we stayed at AoA we have stayed at all of the values. I think you will be fine at Movies. We haven't had any problems with any of the resorts. Although we just stayed at Pop and our room was right by the pool...and it was LOUD until at least 11 PM.

lets put it this way, if you only need the room to sleep in, then Movies or any value resort is for you. The price is perfect and the rooms are about the same as compared to a red roof or econo lodge room. I don't think I would ever get a moderate or deluxe room again , since when we go to Dsiney we're gone the wholes day till 11,12 mid. why pay the extra $400-$1000 more if you just have the room to sleep in. It would be different if you also wanted to spend xtra time at the resort to relax some, but if your gonna be out the whole day its not worth to pay the extra cash, unless your filthy rich and can afford it lmao. I've stayed at movies in 2012 and loved it, the grounds are beautiful. It was definetly worth it.

I think it depends on what you use your room and your resort for. If you never spend any time in your room and just use it to get ready and sleep in, then I'd say to go for it. But, if you like to hangout in your room and hangout by the pool and enjoy other amenaties the resort has to offer then I'd say it might be best to look into something different. Ive stayed at All-Star resorts plenty of times and it has been totally perfect but I just use my room to sleep...I'm never in there during the day because I'm in the parks!

@draybook I've stayed at moderates and values before becoming a DVC member. My wife has only known me as DVC and had never been. On our previous trip in March we went there for the food court just to do something different (and for me to see the place again). I've stayed there and had no issues. I did enjoy Sports, but I like Movies as it sorta kinda ties in to DHS. I asked the wife if, for some reason, we had to stay there, would she be ok with it after seeing the layout, she said she'd be fine with it. My point being, if there is one, is that its a fine resort with true Disney theming. If you can stay in the bubble, that's a win.

We stayed for one night last summer before AKL and it was a good experience. I think it is better than Movies and Sports! I enjoyed the lively theme and having a food court with many options for the kids. Having less room did not bother us because we were out of the room doing other things the whole day.

We stayed there last winter and it was great! Our room was right across from the pool - just walked out the door and hopped over a shrub and I was in the pool. And it was just a short walk from the food court and laundry. I wish I could remember the name and room number.

I agree. We decided that we would try to stay at value resorts since we only really use it to sleep. That said, we like Movies and we request to stay in the Toy Story section. We initially chose Toy Story section because my kids love Toy Story but we found it to be very convenient to the lobby and food court. It is also quiet. We have stayed four years in a row and have found the quality and customer service has stayed consistent.

Due to some availability/pricing changes, we will be staying at All-Star Music. Any certain buildings I should request?
Toy Story section building 9 or 10 and a room closest to food court- it will quiet but closest to the food court and lobby and the lights from the Toy Story characters won't bother.
