The flight times seem fine to me. We are flying Manchester-Orlando on 29 April :D and take off at 11.00, due to land 1520.

Not sure the OP will be ready for bed as quickly as she seems to think though. As Hatter said, jet lag kicks in when you fly east, not west. We always get a 2nd wind when we arrive, sometimes we go to MK (it's extra magic til 0100 that night ) for a while, or at least we go to DD, have an Earl of Sandwich and a couple of drinks by the lake and soak up the atmosphere.

Have checked flight times from London to Orlando and for some strange reason there quoting 9hrs 55 mins.??? Our flight time from Glasgow to Orlando is 9 hrs 15 mins. But we have always made it quicker due to the tail wind.Like I said last year our pilot announced a flight time of 7hrs 45 mins, and was only 5 mins out.I think the Scottish aviation fuel has a higher alcohol volume in it.;) and Thats why we are quicker.
We are going Gatwick to Orlando intl it outbound 9h 05 mins return is 8h 10 mins (it must be down hill). So from Gatwick to Sanford is about right. Hatter you have less distance to travel, Don't forget we have to fly north from Gatwick and then across and then back down the east coast. We have to stay within 2 hours of land, so you can't go straight across the pond. Yes this is about the only time it is quicker to get some where from Scotland rather than London. TTFN Jo

well you learn something new every day! Never knew bout 2 hours/land thing!

I think arrival day will be winging in mostly but bear in mind kiddo will be up from 4am and time in room will heading towards midnight are time. She very rarely has late nights as well but we will see hoe it goes she might sleep (im hoping) on the plane, plus may depends at what point on route she works out where we are going!

I doubt we will be able to come back anytime soon so really do want to go to sea world and daughter mad on Harry Potter much to my delight and not her fathers i add so want get to IOA as well but we will see.

Not sure how old your daughter is? IOA is brilliant but not so much for little ones. If she's tall enough for the rides, she'll love it but could be frustrating for her if she isn't and has to miss out on a lot.

We fly from UK and normally get to our resort around 4.30pm. Unpack, quick shower and out. No children with us though which makes it easier. As you say, best just wing it!

she be 6 n half when we go. if it were't for hp not sure we would bother with IOA to be honest.

Unless she's very tall for her age, she may well be disappointed. Have a look at the website for the height restriction and see what you think. It's a very expensive day if if falls short of the mark. We were surprised at how little there was for small children. Of course, you know her best, only you can make the decision.

Your not going to believe this, but it's true.As a tradition, not one alcoholic drink touches my lips until that big bird is in the sky. Then it's cognac on the rocks, several mind you.I was once 7 hours delayed going to the Canaries, the flight eventually took off at 11.00pm and 80% of the passengers were sloshed due to the free drink they were given at the airport lounge.Me,I was sober as a judge, and the hostess had to serve me my brandies as the rest of the passengers were fast asleep.
LOL!!! Always fun when the posts turn to alcohol!!!

Have to agree here. My six year old was too short for Harry Potter and two of the three rollercoasters. I think the height was 48inches? But if your dd is a huge HP fan it is still really worth it for the atmosphere, the butter beer and the entertainers. My son still had a really good time, but I wish he was tall enough for HP because it's on of the best rides I have ever been on. Oh and even if kids aren't tall enough to ride they can walk through the queue of HP and check out all the cool stuff and then exit before the ride :)
