StormRider

I have been designing a new ride, andI decided maybe it's tme to unveil some facts. No, I have not stopepd Dragons Lair, but I think I'm making this priority now because I love this idea. I dn't have very much now except the basics.

It's a weather based ride that will be replacing the Odyssey Center. It's all based in the fictitious research company called the International Weather Research Center.

That's about all I can release for it right now, so stay tuned!

Official Press Release from Walt Disney Co.

Nov 19, 2004 - The International Weather Research Center heads for Walt Disney World's Epcot theme park in Disney's all new weather-based ride, designed by TheOne Imagineering, Inc.

The all new attraction, called StormRider, will use the same "ride system" as The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter, now Stitch's Great Escape. It will be a circular theater style attraction with all of the effects in the center of the room.

The ride takes place in the International Weather Research Center headquarters. You're here to take a tour of the facilities. You move through the queue and into the briefing room, where they explain the IWRC's mission and technology. They introduce you to the StormTron, a new innevention allowing them to recreate weather rather than waiting for it to really happen.

You are then wisked into the demonstration room (the main theater) where you are all seated around the center of the room. The lights go down, and the television screens turn on...

Keep an eye out for StormRider, coming to Epcot in the spring of 2007.

Okay, okay. I realize that StormRider is a ride at TDS, but hey, it's all Disney Co. and I suck at thinking up names.

^ that's an okay name, I understand what you mean.

I love it! There ought to be a post-show, with lots of weather experiments. Is this an attraction for the 25th Anniversary of Epcot?

Nice site! I really like how this is coming out! How about the name "Weather Chasers"? I know it's not much better, but everything in life should come with a choice. :animwink:

Thanks! :D

Oh, and just to clear things up, the "lab area" is a large open area that includes the corridors. The corridors are elevated, just like the ToT boiler room. The whole "lab area" will be dark and have a very mechanical feel, and the theaters will be circular rooms that are very similar to Alien Encounter or Stitch's Great Escape.

Also, the ride will feature a very cool lightning bolt effect from a big tesla coil.
