Alita: Battle Angel Trilogy

Family has been central to the Camerons during their two-decade-plus stay at the ranch and it’s partly why they’re selling. The couple’s three children are “all pretty much out on their own now,” the Canadian-born director says. “And on Avatar, I’m working in Wellington and Los Angeles. And on the new Alita: Battle Angel films, I’ll be working in Austin, so it just didn’t make sense for us anymore.”

So it would seem Alita: Battle Angel is inching closer receiving the sequels that were originally hinted at when the film came out. Personally, would love to see more from this prospective franchise as it was great fun however I do wonder if the general public would even remember or care about a trilogy based on this film world.

I'd doubt they would remember it. I enjoyed the movie and the read the magnas. I'd be down for more of those.

The film was released only 4 years ago, I know that seems like a whole lifetime ago given what happened in-between then and now but it wasn't that long ago. You'd be surprised what the general public remembers and cares about, just look at Avatar 2. Even if it takes another few years before filming starts it'll still be less time than between the Avatar sequels.

Consindering the films have no release date in sight it will likely be at least six years , and this ain't no Avatar either. The original Alita - depending on the reports you read, either barely broke even of took of a loss of under 60 million. However, given Cameron's attachment I definitely can see the marketing focusing on that to garner interest due to the success of Avatar.

Well since Cameron isn't likely going to be directing it himself, I could see it in less than 6 years. But we'll see if Disney officially announces something over the next year about it.

I remember people complaining about the big eyes of the character were freaky. I think they missed the point of the art style the movie was going for. It's definitely a strong female type but she earns her skills, learns and grows during her hero progression. She is far more interesting character than Rey Palatine, Helena Shaw or Captain Marvel.
