Alerts that FP's we pre-booked won't be available the day of....

Ok, so we got the test magic bands and made all of our arrangements ahead of time. We would be there this week, but unfortunately, had to cancel a couple weeks ago. I keep getting alerts from Disney Destinations in my email that certain FP's that I had reservations for would not be available that day, but I could still use the FP for almost anything else the rest of the day. Got one yesterday for Buzz and today for Test Track. Funny thing is, even if I were there, I don't have a smart phone (honest, there are alot of people out there who don't), so there is no way I'm going to know while I'm in the park that my FP's have been cancelled until we get to them as they are sending out the alert shortly before the time of the FP.
Luckily, we aren't going back anytime soon, but if we ever do, I will just get a regular card. Perfect example of micromanaging with technology. Takes ALL the fun out of just showing up and having fun.....

Presumably those alerts are for the times when the ride has shut down during your FP+ return time or when it shuts down before your time and managers at the attraction believe it will still be down when your FP+ time starts.

If you don't have a mobile device to get the alert (or you do and you don't see it), the worst-case-scenario is that things work out the way they do now with paper FastPasses: you walk across the park only to discover that the ride is down and they tell you to come back anytime the rest of the day to ride.

Getting the notification is simply a nice perk of the new system so that you might save yourself a trip across the park.

I've been getting repeat emails from Disney Destinations, after viewing Poly about 2 weeks ago. They keep sending the same email, at least once per day. Maybe Disney Destinations has a glitch.
