Alcohol.....

So I'm trying to think of good souvenirs to bring back from my upcoming trip for my friends and family. I'm going to be making most of them into Christmas gifts, so I want to make sure it'll last....

Does anywhere in Disney sell alcohol by the bottle, whether a wine or some kind of other spirit? Preferably something mildly inexpensive but maybe with an interesting label? I was thinking Epcot might, but haven't heard of anyone mentioning it.

If not, what kind of souvenirs would you get for your friends and family from WDW?

No clue about the alcohol. It's not something I would think of as a souvenir. What we buy for family really depends on the age. Since you mentioned alcohol I assume adults. We buy our family clothing, something from a Kitchen Store or the kitchen section at The World of Disney or if they celebrate Christmas, something from the Christmas Store.

If the budget is a bit bigger we would look at the Art of Disney.

Besides wine by the bottle in Epcot, a few countries have candy and chocolates with alcohol. Germany and Italy both come to mind.
And those are some really great candies! I sometimes do a candy crawl through Epcot and try something from different countries that actually have them. Yum!

And to the OP...Buying Christmas gifts for friends and family at Disney is a great idea! I have so many treasured things that have been brought to me from WDW. Gifts of any kind are special but gifts from WDW are even more so!

Many of the gift shops in Epcot and at the resorts sell this private label- Once Upon A Vine. We often buy a few bottles for drinking in the room. It's not expensive. I think it's around $15. I've tried several of the varieties and they are as good as anything I buy at home in that price range. The labels and names are cute which makes these a nice souvenir/gift.

The once upon a vine is sold at pretty much all the resort gift shops. Many places in Epcot sell by the bottle... @ the Mara @ AKL they have a lot of African wines for sale. Although I will tell you I manage a liquor store here in NY (where prices are HIGH as it is) The prices for wine there are outrageous, definitely not worth it... better off getting a case of once upon a vine somewhere else... I suggest the red blend or the bubbly.

Thank you all for your help! Three of my very best friends either just bought, or are buying, new houses this year so I was thinking a fun bottle of wine, a cute Disney wine stopper, a new house ornament (if I can find one), and maybe some kind of candy or treat that will last. We also have a couple of kiddos that I'd need to buy for, but I'll aim for character toys or books for them. :)

I think your ideas are very thoughtful, but if I were you, I'd not bother with hauling all of those things home. You can buy the exact same accessories (e.g., Disney bottle stoppers, kitchen towels, personalized Christmas ornaments - pretty much anything except Disney-branded candy and chocolates) right on the Disney Store website (free shipping for orders of $75 or more - and oh my goodness, check out the darling Haunted Mansion bottle stopper while you're there!), add a bottle of wine from your local liquor store or online (Disney sells the same wines you can buy anywhere -- even the private label wine can be purchased online -- ask me about the time I took great care to personally bring a "unique" bottle of local wine back from a vacation to Stockholm, Sweden home to Upstate NY, only to find the same wine on the shelf at my local podunk liquor store the next week, for half the price!), and assemble the souvenir packages before you leave or on your return home. I know it may not feel as much like a "souvenir" if you don't buy it in the park and lug it home yourself (even though it's the exact same merchandise), but I don't think the recipients of your gifts are going to question their provenance, and it will ensure that everything gets to the intended recipients in perfect condition, and save you a lot of worry along the way.
