I got teary eyed this morning when I read the news. So sad. Of course most of my feelings are mixed up in the fact that he played Snape in the Harry Potter films. I have such a conflicted relationship with that character. My heart goes out to his family.

The first film I ever saw him in was "Sense and Sensibility" with Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson. Wow, what a different side of his acting ability. It made me cry. I will admit - that is the character that I always see him in...even after all these years.

While their intentions are noble, if this really were for respect toward Rickman, and not showmanship, the girl on the right in a dark grey coat wouldn't be taking a selfie or Instagram shot during the memorial. She sorta takes away from the moment.

May Alan rest in peace. His legacy in entertainment will not be forgotten.

That is one person. She doesn't negate what all the other people are doing.
