We're leaving in three days and I'm getting all my Donald ducks in a row (lame joke, I know)...I rented a car from Alamo and did the online check-in/skip the counter option. I have all my confirmations printed up and ready to go, but I just can't shake my paranoia and OCD when it comes to planning this trip. Plus, Murphy's Law seems to stick to me like a shadow, so I'm just preparing myself for any complications that may arise.
On the Alamo site it says that when I'm giving the guy at the garage my paperwork, I also need to show him the card I paid for it with. It says the names on the credit card and the confirmation have to be the same. Here's where my sweating-the-small-stuff comes in: My credit card only has my first initial and last name (they couldn't fit it all on) but I reserved the car with my whole first name, just as it is on my driver's license. It wouldn't even let me type in my name as it is on my credit card because it had to be more than one character long.
I'm just worried they're going to hassle me in the garage about the names not matching EXACTLY and make me go back to the counter and try to straighten it all out. It's my first time ever renting a car at MCO and I'm not sure how fastidious Alamo is when it comes to this. I've heard everything from glowing praise to horror stories about them.
I'm wondering if anyone has ever been in a similar situation? Should I even worry?
