Alamo Car Rental

Since we usually stay offsite we always rent a car at the airport. I prefer Alamo over the others. This year we are traveling from Wednesday 7/17 to Saturday 7/27. By now I usually have some good discount codes and rates are usually falling in May or so for July travelers to Orlando. I am very frustrated because it seems this year rates are not dropping. I have a rental reserved for my vacation thru Alamo for $295 !!! Last year I paid $139 !!! for the same amount of days during the last 2 weeks of July. For those that rent cars during your vacation, what type of rates are you finding?

I usually rent w/ Alamo too, but like you I am finding outrageous prices. Trying Thrifty instead for $88 week.

where did you find an $88 a week thrifty deal ?? I am so partial to Alamo and the fact that an additional driver is free if you are an insiders member. We need for both of us to be listed as drivers.

As mentioned in the other thread, use the Mousesavers.com discount codes. Or buy an Entertainment Book and use their codes.

I have used Thrifty, Alamo and Dollar in the past. No difference in the cars for me and we will usually go to the Gulf side for 5 days, so we do use it for more than the quick trip from the resort to the parks.
