Aladdin Show Replacement?

Screamscape has heard that the Aladdin Musical will end its run in mid-2008 and be replaced by a new Broadway-style Tarzan show.

If true, that's disappointing because that show was great. Hopefully this new show will be just as good if Tarzan will indeed replace Aladdin.

Anyone know anymore about this?

Nooooo!! I love Aladdin!! Why take away the greatest show on property, and maybe even the greatest show at any Disney resort?

I haven't heard this, but hopefully (if true) Tarzan will live up to Aladdin's standards.

Along with this rumor, it is said that a new parade will come to DL, replacing PoD. And Spectro will come to DCA.

I'm okay with the first, even though I love PoD! But I don't want Spectro to come to DCA...I say keep the MSEP there.

As for Aladdin, I would be disappointed if it goes. That show was type of production something I've never seen in any theme park before.

I can't see it going since I imagine it still packs a house, but anything goes I guess.

I'm interested to see if anyone knows more.

Yeah, it is rumored that in around 2009 (which I think is the same date for Disneyland's replacement of their parade) that the current Disney Dreams Come True Parade will be replaced by the one in Disneyland Resort in California (or possibly a parde from Disneyland Paris).

I heard that DL will get a new 55th anniversary parade in 2010, and PoD doesn't go anywhere.

Darn! I hope this is not true because when i was there last I missed the show and I want to be able to check it next time I go!! ...Plus I hope their Tarzan is nothing like Tarzan rocks at DAK that they use to have... It was okay.

I absolutely love the Aladdin show, and would miss it, but it is starting to get old and people need change (as long as whatever new show replaces isn't lame like the one before Aladdin...) I would love to see it go to FL- maybe to replace the B&B show at the studios.

PoD is a wonderful parade, but like the Aladdin show, it is getting old to the locals- and unlike WDW, DL and DCA rely very heavily on their local population- so you have to appease them.

I have heard of Fantillusion possibly coming from Paris to WDW and I wouldn't be opposed to that, but only if they'd un-water it down and give FL the version from Tokyo instead of the lazy version that Paris has

I also heard that the Tarzan Broadway show bombed, so it wouldn't be a wise thing to do to replace Aladdin with a Broadway show that didn't do too well..now, Mary Poppins..that's a conversation for another day..

I highly doubt this is true- spectro is in terrible, terrible condition...like falling to pieces. It's a pretty old parade and I would hope that the only place it's going is to the dump... and I actually really like the parade! it's time to be retired though

I don't understand your point there, Spectro is hardly falling to pieces, yes it is old and parades should be retired before they do start to fall apart, but spectro is in pretty good condition in my opinion.

Back on topic, this is the was that DLR has to operate, with WDW they can have a show for pretty much decades before it needs to be replaced as there are allways hundreds of thousands of new visitors each year, where as ar DLR regulars make up a large percentage of attendance and therefore change is good.
