Aladdin in the Parks...

Aladdin is one of my favorite Disney films. I even enjoyed the live action version with Will Smith. With Aladdin back in the spotlight thanks to that film being so successful, do we think it’s possible Aladdin could get some love and maybe become a dark ride like Beauty and the Beast. It definitely deserves more then a simple spinner.

Your non-standard abbreviation has me searching the quasi-official Big List of Forum Abbreviations without success...

The only things I can come up with are Benedictine and Brandy... or Broiled in Butter mushrooms... or Bed and Breakfast... and none of those make sense in your context.

There's only two places an Aladin ride would fit thematically that I can think of (Adventureland and the Morocco pavilion), and the former doesn't have the space available, unless you replaced either Pirates or the Jungle Cruise. Looking on Google Earth, they could maybe fit a small dark ride behind Morocco, but they would need to find another place to fit the logistical supports that sit there now. The site of the future Ratatouille ride would have been the place to build it, but that area is now fully occupied.

Well, Tokyo gets the ride. We (WDW) got the restaurant.

You're welcome to close your eyes and imagine that you're dancing with Belle and the Prince... while you're eating, of course.

ETA: The added bennie is that you can also imagine that you're in an Aladdin attraction while you eat with your eyes closed.

Sadly lots of Disney characters and films are deserving of having a place in WDW. At least Aladdin gets something, thats more than most ever get. There should be some recognition given even if its a placement on poster or picture on a wall somewhere.

We had dinner at BOG on our last trip. I was a little taken back when, as guests of the Beast, we were presented a bill for our dinner. I even went back and watched the movie and Belle wasnt presented a bill for her meal.

It was charged directly to her room, and then she ran out of the castle that night and got attacked by wolves.

That's what she got for dining and dashing.

There is an expansion pad south of Pirates that was the location for a proposed Atlantis ride. It's still there for any future use.

Go to Tokyo DisneySea. They have a whole area called Arabian Coast that not only features a prettier version of the Aladdin spinner, but a double-decker carousel (where you can ride on the back of Genie), a 3-D movie attraction with live actors (also featuring Genie) and the fabulous Sindbad boat ride that while not based on Aladdin, still features Alan Menken music and a cute tiger.

Magic carpet ride could be so much better. Even if it was just a Soarin or FOP type of ride. A waste of a great character, but I get why they might not expand it in Florida.

I guess I am one of the few who doesn't mind Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride in Adventureland. I know that draws the ire of most people on here, but I don't know, if it was between doing that or doing nothing, then I am glad they have an extra attraction. Sure, they could do more with it, but they didn't.

So...with Aladdin hitting a billion and that being the magic number, do we still think we won’t get a significant Aladdin presence?
