AK's Africa in Need of Attractions?

Honestly Rafikis Planet Watch should become Zootopia. I know Planet Watch serves for a reason, but they could easily place the relevance of Planet Watch on around Discovery Island. The train could be changed to the Zootopia train (similar to Hogwarts express) and then lead to a massive land, away from the animals and still in the spirit of Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I like Zootopia but I don't think any IP land would fit in Animal Kingdom.

Africa is a fantastically designed land, but yes it would benefit from another attraction. I was disappointed that they did not put a smallish ride in the area where FOTLK was build (and apparently one was on the table IIRC from hints from @marni1971). If they could put something like a Tarzan or Lion King ride there and have it fit into the vibe of Africa, it would be beneficial.

I also think that Asia (Jungle Book ride?) or even Discovery Island could benefit from an additional attraction. The park is wonderful, but as a whole could use a few more things to keep people occupied, especially with the planned extended hours.

Yes Asia could use a safari type ride. As of now it is in need of more animal theme IMO

It really depends on how they approach it, especially if its located on Rafikis Planet watch it remains quite seperate from the other more realistic areas. If theyd approach the land as a Pandora, Wizarding World kind of thing it would work perfectly in my opinion, but I do agree that DAK should become the Animal Magic Kingdom.

Well the thing is that Animal Kingdom is an adventure themed place centered around the wild. When you introduce Zootopia that takes away from the immersion. I think they should just work on the areas they have, maybe replace Rafiki with a bigger land like Beastly.

I agree, though I don't think AK's name change would be necessary. I mean it's still about animals with or without Zootopia.

I don't think they necessarily chose Pandora over Beastly. That ship sailed many years ago, and the final nail was placed in the coffin once Universal did HP world. There were too many similarities. I'm excited for Pandora, because it seems so close to what Beastly Kingdom could have been and should have been. The original question is a good one, though, shouldn't there be more in Africa? I doubt they will do more, since all their money is going into Pandora. It's still nice that there will finally (in theory) be enough to make AK an all day park. We're going to a preview next week, so all of my excitement might be for nothing. I've never seen the movie and don't plan to see the movie, but I'm hoping they hit a home run or at least a double this time.

And as Roj2323 said, please make room to pass the live entertainment portion.

1. Well, I do think they chose Pandora over Beastly Kingdom, kind of. They did build Pandora in it's place, and that is a deal since they had planned and planned that land and chose Avantar.

2. The final nail in the coffin was not Potter, but rather The Lost Continent, which has been transformed into Potter Land. Continent was extremely similar to the planned Beastoy Kingdom, however Potter Land is not noticeably similar. The only thing they have in common is a fantasy/middle ages type theme, which is a common theme. I do believe they may be open to doing it now, if people still want more.

3. Well, I do not think they will add too much to Africa eight this minute, however in the future they may. The thing is, Africa only jas ONE ride. One. It needs more to it, especially since most people do not go to theme parks to see theatre. All the lands need more rodes, including even Asia and Pandora, but Africa really only has one.

4. No matter how quality something is, quanity must be functional. They just nees more for a park goer. I love animals, and if they would like to lean on that at least have more viewing of the African animals or something. Regardless, they could use way more rides, Africa is just in most need because they have the least.

I saw in the Avatar thread that there is a giant walking trail that drops down by the Lion King show and takes guests all the way down to Pandora. I have to believe that a ride or attraction will go back there at some point.

Lol sorry if I worded that badly, but take this:

Quality is, without a doubt, held over quantity in Animal Kingdom over any park, possibly worldwide. However, quantity is almost as important. Right now, what they have is great, they just don't have enough. By a long shot.
