How many hrs. before your flight do you have to be at the airport? Are all airlines different? I heard it was like 2hrs. I havent picked an airline/flight yet, so could one of you lovely experienced travlers give me an idea of how many hrs. before my flight I need to arrive at the airport?

Which AIrport? If it is Cleveland or Detroit or Indianapolis you need to be there 60 minutes to 90 minutes before your flight. If it is Orlando, SF, Vegas, Phoenix, NYC, LAX, either Chicago airport it needs to be at least two hours (sometimes more depending on time of day). Call your airline and ask what they advise. Orlando usually advises 2 1/2 hours before flight time unless you are flying during a "dead zone"

Your airline's website will have this information as well as their restrictions on baggage size and weight (these are strictly enforced, so be forewarned), and the latest TSA regulations.
