air gates on Winnie the Pooh?

I saw in the news section that Winnie the Pooh will undergo rehab in Sept. for installation of airgates. Pardon my ignorance but what are airgates?

They are in place in several rides. They keep people away from ride vehicles until it has come to a complete stop. More of a saftey thing to keep people from trying to jump in before they should.

much better to be safe than sorry..even for "tame" rides such as pooh...
