AIM virus thingy... PLEASE READ/HELP!

Ok.. has anyone else gotten the AIM virus that is activated by the one that goes in your profile says "Happy Holidays Everyone!" and then a link right under it saying "New Years 2003 Partyy!"????

I did. And now it has made it so I can never get it out of my profile.. and it's very aggravating... does ANYONE know how to get rid of it?? :veryconfu

And also, if you ever come across this in someone's profile.. do NOT!!! Click on the "New Years 2003 Partyy!" part... you'll regret it.. I heard there is also one about "I cant believe I found *your screename*'s picture HERE!!"... I heard that does the same thing as well...

I recently got an AIM Trojan Horse from reading someone's profile (said READ MY PROFILE). My Norton didn't pick it up but McAfee did & I was able to remove it. Then I just deleted it from my AIM info box. Good Luck.

Oopsie lol...The other day, I was clicking buddy info on each of the people on my BuddyList who had their away messages on, cuz I like to read them (lol). Anyways, Alex, I went in yours and clicked on it, and it linked me to "Buddypicture.net" or something, but the page didnt load. Thats the thing about my aim. When someone sends me a link, it never works when I click on it, I gotta copy and paste. Luckily the page didnt load though, and I tried it like 4 times lol. Does it ever load, or what is it? Someone else on my BL had it too, but I forget who, and I have ALOT of people from this site on my BL, so If I see it, I'll im ya.

Yeah it does load.. and that's how I got it. lol. It doesnt show anything on the site.. it just sends a virus to your profile and I couldn't get it out.. but..

Same thing with my AIM. Websites hardly ever load from the links the I recieve on AIM, and when they do decide to load, AIM locks up.

A friend of mine had it in his profile, and I clicked it.... but it didnt load. Thank god. I always seem to be the one who gets a virus on this computer. :lol:

My AIM does the same thing, I use AOL as an ISP but use AIM to talk and if I click on a link through AIM the website box will come up on AOL but it won't load. I saw this in someone's profile and clicked it too, but luckily like you guys mine didn't load either. I had an AIM virus a while back that was sent to me from someone who stole my friends SN and sent it to everyone on her buddy list (including me). I thought I had removed it because I didn't have problems with AIM anymore but a month or so later my entire computer crashed and I think it was just this virus that was waiting until the right time to strike. I took it to a computer place to get it fixed and he said everything inside would have to be replaced and it would be cheaper to just buy a new one.

i got that once, i clicked on it from my friends profile and it took me to a website that said you HAVE to download this yes or no and i kept clicking no but it wouldnt let me out of it so i Ctrl Alt Del and i got out of that mess but it still gave me the virus.
joel downloaded AVG for me and some spyware detector and now im all set

thats why in my profile on AIM it says something to the effect of "my profile died"

darn virus people!!!
