AI on Billboards

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.

Well, for example the Oogie Boogie bash poster was confirmed by Scott Gustin to be not AI after speaking with the supposed artist. Whether you believe him or not that's up to you, but I haven't seen him post anything like this that wasn't verified by Disney themselves. The name of the artist wasn't given out either. I'm assuming they don't to deal with the backlash of all the people supposedly sticking up for artists by claiming their work is garbage and AI.

In my opinion there is nothing in any of the examples posted (except for the nightmare Mickey of course) that looks AI generated. These type of renders have been done for quite a while now. We have to be careful in not throwing the artists we claim to care about under the bus in the pursuit of finding AI.
Looks like Disney needs new artists.

Did an artist at one point or another provide input or guidelines or touchups for the OBB work? I wouldn’t doubt that. But when I look at the mangled hands and freakishly long arms on that second poster — or the soulless eyes Mickey & Minnie have on the first poster — I see the same uncanny qualities present in a lot of generative art. There is absolutely no reason to think Disney wouldn’t be stooping to using genAI to some degree at this point, especially for social media marketing.

What's you guys' opinions on this one? Aside from the ugly face snatcher thing they have going on where the faces don't look like they match the bodies, you have the nonsense inclusion of a monster in a baby carrier and a lot of small things that look off. Like, her ice cream cone is make up of tiny circles, and the other doesn't have the same texture?

AI or just ugly?

This looks more like tried-and-true concept art to me, done on a Wacom or similar tablet. The monster in the baby carrier is a fun little touch to sell the Monstropolis concept and theming. I don’t see any of the usual weird tells here that would make me wonder if it’s AI.
It would be great if companies were made to disclose if assets were made with generative products; there’s simply no reason for them to tell us of their own volition.
