 Oh believe me, I dont think I'm talented. It's just fun to throw around paint!!!!! No but really, I think I'm okay, I'm going to try to get into art school and get into animation or advertising. I think, hey if the south park guys got a job making a cartoon, I can at least top that!

That's awesome Princess. It sounds like a very fun and interesting career, but I just don't think I have to stuff to do it. Good luck!

Now, it's not that I don't understand why history is important, I just don't think it's very interesting. I also don't like the way it's being taught. Don't get me wrong, my US (not World) History teacher is one of the best teachers I've had, but the way things are presented--simply by teaching it--are lacking. Does it really matter in what year the treaty of versailles was signed, and what countries signed it? Not in my opinion.

Well....like I said...someday your grandkids will think that there was nothing to the WTC attacks.....I think you would have a different opinon.

And trust me...you're what? 17? That opinion will change with time as you grow older...you'll begin to see how important it is that we teach this "boring" subject.

I dont' like the way history is taught either. Last year I took global studies which is basically another term for world hisotry I guess. It was sooooo boring it was read from book, talk about it. But my sophomore year, I had a teacher who loved to take us places and we played games to help us understand the material better. More teachers need to teach like that.

My teacher never really read the book, it was the best class. He would ask if we had any questions and people would ask questions and he would go into a long spiel. Which I liked because I like the detail of History

Fievel: I hear what you're saying, but I think you misunderstood what I was saying about the attacks. Really I was thinking what my kids would be thinking, but I don't want to get into it.

Turbogames and PrincessAli: If we had more teachers that were good and students liked, I would be much happier. That's one of my biggest pet peeves--teachers who don't teach. For instance, my world history teacher last year was one of the biggest un-teachers I've had. The first day of school, he lectured, and we took notes, from bell to bell. The second day of school, we had a test on that stuff. Do you call that teaching? Because I certainly do not. He did that pretty much the whole year, although he did slow down a bit. Lecturing and then testing is not teaching. Wow, I knew I never should've gotten into it. I could talk about this forever (or until everyone agrees with me :animwink: ).

oh god, unteachers! that is a good title for them. I dont know if this counts but my freshman year I had this teacher who taught nothing to do with his subject. Like right in the middle of what he was talking about he would get interrupted and we'd be way off subject for the rest of class. Like half of the year we listened to music and then the other half we talked about crap! But the thing that sucked, is that he would still give us tests on what he was SUPPOSED to be teaching us.....that class sucked! lol

That is exactly what I was talking about, PrincessAli. They bother me so much.

I would also like to retract a statement I made earlier: I implied that I thought the WTC attacks were nothing, and after some thought, I realized that was completely wrong and I apologize. I mixed two opinions of mine, and I was wrong.
