Agrabah vs Little Mermaid FLE

I just watched 'Aladdin' and thought: Would you prefer Little Mermaid Eric's Castle dark ride as it's being built or an 'Aladdin' dark ride inside the agrabah castle?

Hmm that's a tough one. I love both movies but like the movie Aladdin better. I think an Agrabah themed mini-land in Fantasyland could have been better if executioned right than a Little Mermaid themed mini land. That's just my opinion though

I don't think Agrabah would have looked right in FL. LM is my least favorite Princess movie but it fits so well within the expansion.

An Alladin dark ride does sound pretty cool now that you mention it. Imagine , 'You ain't never had a friend like me' playing while coasting on your magic carpet and.......oh wait, I used the word Imagine. Let's just copy a ride from DisneyLand and save the effort.

Aladdin doesn't fit the theme of Fantasyland as well as Mermaid does, in my opinion. I do love Aladdin much more than The Little Mermaid, though, and I would have gladly taken an Aladdin attraction over The Little Mermaid.

Agrabah in Storybook is the closest thing Disneyland's got to an Aladdin attraction.

Aladdin is my least favorite Disney movie but I can understand why people like it. I feel like Agrabah would be to similar to Morocco

I think an agrabah with omnimover flying carpets going through famous scenes.

The Loading Dock: Arabian Nights
1st scene: One Jump Ahead
2nd scene: Aladdin being told to go into the cave of wonders for the lamp (and the exit of that scene is throughout the mouth of the cave of wonders)
3rd scene: Aladdin getting the lamp
4th scene: Fun scene of "Friend Like Me" with dancing genies and such similar to 'Under The Sea'
5th scene: Short scene with Aladdin wishing to be a prince
6th scene: Prince Ali
7th scene: Whole New World

Is there anything else you'd like to see if Aladdin was to happen?

EDIT: User "Push" gave a fantastic idea of a small breeze in your face, so you can add that too:D

I like your idea. I would also want the entire ride to have a gentle breeze in your face, such as Soarin' has. I think it would be a cool effect.

I think a scene or two with Jafar would complete the ride, like when he turns into a snake/genie.

Wouldn't Agrabah fit into Adventureland better?
Well we are speaking as if this was during Blue-Sky phase of FLE so it would've fit better into FL. And also a large regal palace wouldn't really fit into Adventureland in my mind

Well since omnimover dark-rides tend to remove LOTS of story information I figured that the story would still work without Jafar, with only Aladdin getting the lamp and getting Jasmine, but obviously Jafar snake animatronic would be EPIC! haha

Aladdin "Flying Carpet" coaster through the Cave of Wonders....with demon statues, lava flows, and huge boulders rolling right into you. Then the Genie saves you from almost certain death...

Basically the DL Indiana Jones Adventure, minus the jeep, plus a roller coaster train, and with the Genie instead of Indiana Jones.

How about a KUKA arm at high-speeds? I think the magic carpet can sway and twist like the KUKA

As opposed to an Agrabah ride, I would have much preferred a bayou ride. Let DCA keep the LM omnimover, and give WDW an omnimover through Princess and the Frog. I think PotF has some of the best music out of all Disney movies, especially because it's music is used in a completely innovative way of setting the tone of the movie. The music in PatF literally transports the viewers to the bayou. I think an omnimover through the bayou being lead by Raymond would have been a wonderful addition to New Fantasyland. And I also think it would have fit the theming of forrest a lot better than Mermaid's seaside cliffs.

WIN! 3-D projections that will have the Genie practically riding right alongside you! GIANT JAFAR COBRA that makes Indiana Jones Adventures' look like a runty little punk!

And, resurrected from his Adventureland demise....IAGO!
